Scandi's are not east European. Without wanting to look too stupid can you explain what "cold" means. He cold called & cold 4 bet etc. no one ever hot's anything. Go easy coz I'm 43 today Ty.
when did I say they were? Scandi guy was not the same guy as when I referred to eastern europeans. not a stupid question btw - cold refers to when a player who hasn't yet acted does something after two raises before him (or a bet and a raise). For example, you open, wadey reraises and rastafish calls, this call would be called a "cold call".

A cold-call is also what you do at DTD if you're on table 41 and sat in seat 8 under the air-con.

Why? Cos they're the ones that didn't work?! Not saying your wrong, they might've been just interested in your reasons.

I think the A3 was a bit spewy, but QT was fine and works a lot of the time. I mean how often is the Chinese guy going to be flatting the button with a hand he can call or backraise with? I think I was pretty unlucky that didn't work

I agree with this, think the QT is perfectly fine

@MtSpewmore I wouldn't normally try so hard, but didn't have another opportunity I could wait for. I wasn't ready to surrender what I WANTED SO MUCH, that easily, I couldn't guarantee a call with me staying stoic and relying on a flinch "top pair" calling reflex.

Just feels like you're looking for spots. Spose it's difficult to judge cos you're at the table.

Yeh. Cold 4 bets work so often here though! Think im 4/6 anyway for bluffs. Picked the wrong time with A3 though cos the utg guy wasn't active enough (like to pick obv utg aggros cos they still open really wide utg and it looks so strong). Think I was influenced by having a suited ace blocker!

My mistake re read and pot involved you, scandi n east European. So doing anything cold calling/raising is always with someone to act behind. Define a back raise because a young kid who won the sunday million gave me a definition of it the other day and was completely different to my understanding of it. I informed him that the last guy who I saw make the play as he defined it was indeed from his home town of Leeds and got spat on

A back-raise is a limp-raise, is it not?
So you flat-call, and then re-raise someone who raises after your limp.

A backraise is flatting an initial raise then 4betting when someone 3bets behind

Yes I had it as being either of the two above: showing passivity and then raising out of the blue. So either a limp-raise or a call-4bet.
That's why it would historically have been frowned upon.
Always amuses me whenever I see "check and raise is allowed in this cardroom"
