LOL at Redknapp pic.
Surprised to hear a fee would change hands for something like this. Is this normal?

I'm selling the makeup to them. So the horse starts the new deal in the same makeup as he was in before. The new backer would pay the old backer some % of the makeup, never usually more than 50%, I believe it fairly standard protocol.

"Everyone knows PJ is a triffic lad. He can check-raise nits with air, fold the second nuts, 5-bet light, even managed to beat Rastafish at DTD. Not a lot of people can say that. Kid's got it all. I tried to sign him a couple of years ago but he was with another stable. I mean who wouldn't want him in their stable? No. Triffic lad."

Doesn't seem to be much in it for him really. He could've just waited for you to go busto then his MU gets wiped and he's a free agent. Obviously different because you're all friends but you seem to have got the best of this, K&K second best and the poor old horse is no better or worse off at all.

Why should there be 'anything in it' for the horse? Its a private deal between two backers just trading horses. If the horse is +EV in his games then the winner is whoever backs the horse, so K&K win this one. Technically PJ takes a small loss in this transaction because the nut outcome for a horse in makeup is for their backer to drop them (for whatever reason) assuming that the horse can find a new backer which isn't a problem here. Hope it turns around in Feb Alex, gl

I mean I suppose technically PJ could say no and wait or K&K could even wait for Alex to be desperate to drop him but then that'd be pretty poor form by PJ.
Yes horses get backing because they're +EV but they also get backing because they're trustworthy.
