That photo isn't the most flattering, but I would never have guessed that there is a British man alive who doesn't think Elizabeth Hurley is a total MILF. Can't really help you identifying her, though; the only movies of hers that come to mind are the first Austin Powers and Bedazzled.

What have u been doin with ur life

I was saying this yesterday, you know in school when you were off sick for a few days or whatever and missed a crucial lesson or two and then struggled with all the future lessons because of it? I feel like I missed something in my upbringing somewhere.

Mainly down to Television. We didn't watch TV at all really. Yeh we watched like Fireman Sam and Thomas the Tank (<3) when we were small, but between the ages of like I dunno 7 and leaving home, we would watch Match of the Day on a Saturday, Friends on a Friday night after Choir ( ) Champions League football during the week if there was any, and not really much else. I got into Eastenders a bit from like 10-13ish. We had plenty of DVDs so watched films quite a bit and box sets, and played a lot of Playstation and Computer games in our spare time (Namely Worms 2, Metal Gear Solid 1, Crash Bandicoot 3 - all incred), but just never watched much TV at all.

I really don't care that I don't know who celebrities are, or who won X Factor or who Tulisa is going out with. I don't feel I missed out at all. Like what importance do they have to anything? Why is it so important that I should know who Jedward are (had to google spelling)? I just don't give a shit and never will really.

I much happier knowing all the words to the Lion King, being able to play Rachmaninov of the piano and getting psyched up for a day 3 by listening to the Dark Knight soundtrack Cheesy

There you go, I'm weird, didn't you know?

Saturday

The Good

-Hero line up on the cash tables. Not just one table - 2 or 3 hero-filled lineups. Was so much banter, really good times.
-Despite the last 5 months, still playing my best and in the zone 100%, full of confidence and love for the game.
-Winning - a really important big win for me last night Smiley
-Caught Melissa bluffing Cheesy

The Bad

-Seeing friends knock it in
-Didn't win every pot Cheesy
-Not a lot else

The Ugly

-One terrible play I made, opening a terrible hand in a terrible spot, making a terrible cbet and a terrible turn dbl barrel. Thankfully had the sense to give up the river. Muppet.
-Again, nothing else to complain about....today.

Yesterday I was loving the game so much it was one of the days where you just feel like all the shit is worth it for this feeling, and you know you're going to be playing this game in one way or another, for a long time yet. Morale back on the up Smiley

What do you class as a 'good game' Alex?

Is it just a fun game like we had last night or a game with lots of fish and profitable spots?

Obviously last night combined the 2 so you couldn't really put that in either camp Smiley

Erm both I'd class as "good". Last night's game was more "fun" than "good".

Find it hard to leave a game like that in favour of a boring more profitable one, but I did eventually go to the 1/2 which was defo better.

Played an MTT session today for the first time in a few weeks. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

No sweats really, except a 50e turbo which I bust JJ<A9 for 1/2 chips in play 8 handed and the Monte Carlo Satellite came like 16th with 10 seats losing QQ to AA in a very cold spot for a seat locked. Very annoying.

As usual though there's a glimmer of hope, in a day two which I'm 23/100 with 24k euro ftw, but what are the chances anything meaningful comes from that eh?

Hate sounding down in the dumps, but online poker just does this to me, I really don't enjoy it and the variance is just sick sick sick. Got many close friends who I know to be really good players who have been in makeup forever, it's just so easy to lose and lose for months on end.

I'm definitely much happier now I'm playing live everyday except Sunday - so I'm going to stick to this, even though my hourly is probably better in theory playing online MTTs (obviously entirely guesswork, but intelligent guesswork I'd like to think).

Made a pretty massive mistake in my BRM last year when taking on Jack and giving PJ freedom to play whatever he wanted meaning I just wasn't rolled for the variance of having 2/3 horses, and although could take some normal downswings, everybody downswing for the last few months at the same time has just killed me, so I've had to stop staking altogether and written off over 5 figures GBP of makeup which succkkkkkks.

Lesson learnt though, think it'll be a long time before I get into staking again.

Are you sure about this? I don't really know what I'mm talking about but my opinion of MTT players is they fall into 3 types,

#1 are the very best players who can beat all stakes "specialists" there is nothing they can be playing that's better for them than MTT's

#2 are the players who don't beat the highest stakes hard enough + prolly don't game select well enough

#3 guys who play low/mid-stakes and game select hard.

I think you're somewhere between 2 + 3, you aren't quite beating high stakes for enough to over-run the ridiculous variance that comes with it ($50-$100k downswings at these stakes pretty stnd) you game select well but I don't see how you can make as much money in those games online as you can in live cash games, given how good you are at that format (your strongest format imo, not even close)

I play sunday comps once in a while, I write the money off in my head and class it as a punt - like putting $2k on a bet at 4/1 someone tells me is 7/2 at worst. No  pressure on me ever and I can just go play live cash/watch a film when i bust everything and don't really care too much, one day there's every chance i'll ping something but doesn't really matter.

ALSO - I know you hate it- but grinding out 5k hands a week of cash games with a decent RB deal which takes no time at all and just pays those bills....

Cliffs;

Stick to live cash games as your B+B, you really are excellent at them and it suits your personality perfectly.

Online MTT's really do suck as a form of a living

IMO, approx 80% of MTT'ers (exclusive mtt'ers and occasional MTT'ers) fall into category 2, probably myself included, weather they want to admit it or not.  If you're not in #1 you should deffo be in #3

When you say not much TV, did/do you watch any factual stuff?  You know who David Attenborough is, yeah?
