i genuinely think it's unlucky to move seats lol

You spend half your life worrying about maths and +EV and other shit and you worry about this?  Cheesy

I don't know how you've gotten the impression I spend ANYWHERE near half my life worrying about Maths and +EV lol I spend more time worrying about whether my glass desk has smudges on it! I hate it when there are smudges on it. Can't stand it when there are smudges makes me really angry.

I will happily play 1/2 and when it goes straddle crazy embrace it, but i dont tend to even put my name on the list for a 2/5 game in notts ever. Most of the reg's know this that there are players that just wont play that step bigger (in dtd). The 1/2 gets big enough for me so im happy at that level, dont want to do my bollocks any quicker than i already am!

Played a 12pm-12am sunday session today, got my sleeping pattern straight for Sweden, which meant leaving fun cash games on friday and saturday early, which was really hard to do (especially since my remarks about leaving games early earlier in the week lol). But v important to be on Victoria's sleeping zone so we can make the most of our short time together.

Sunday report - pretty miserable most of the day and then like any sunday, it hinges on one sweat, which usually goes to pot and it ends up being an entirely miserable day, but sometimes it just works out and the feeling of elation / joy / relief is pretty awesome.

It was nothing big today, but it was my favourite tournament of all time - Le Go Fast - the 50e hyper turbo - the "get out of it" tournament, which takes < 90 minutes to win and is soooo much fun! Shipped it tonight for the 3rd time (Just behind PJ's record of 4) for not much, but enough to get out of it and have a winning day. Extremely fun way to get out!

Not playing poker now until Vegas which is a week today!!!

So as June is upon us, the Croquet season has officially begun, and yesterday marked the first match of the 13/14 season.

Of course a couple of unofficial matches (friendlies and the community shield etc) have taken place in the proceeding weeks, however yesterday was the real thing.

Controversially, Alex was seeded 4th, behind father, Nicholas (to be expected) and brothers Mark (again, as was forecast) and Bobby (partially sighted but still, made the cut above Alex).

Thus the teams for the first time since records began, were

Nick (C) (1) & Alex (4) vs Mark (C) (2) and Bobby (3).

The match was due to start at 3pm, but was delayed due to adverse weather. The players were twiddling their thumbs in the dressing room, and there was widespread fear that the eagerly anticipated fixture would have to be postponed.

However, at 435pm, the officials deemed the weather good enough and took the balls out on the lawn and play began.

Marks team got off to a far superior start thanks to an exquisite opening sequence and a heinous unforced error from Alex.

As is the case in all these 4 way, 2 team affairs, once you're ahead it's very difficult to be caught and Mark and Bobby went on a rampage, getting through hoop 4 whilst Nick and Alex were still on hoop 2.

It was a 12 hoop course so there was little need to panic, however things looked really bleak as the lead stretched to 5 hoops (9 vs 4 at one stage).

Marks team had all reason to crow and jeer as they had massively out performed their rivals thus far.

Then the big sting.

Co-ordinated by Nick, but not without a string of textbook shots from Alex (including the triple morfield and the impressive reverse Irish peel), a quite remarkable manoeuvre took place across hoops 4 and 9, and a sequence of turns that left Mark and Bobby dumbfounded, and crucially, behind.

They were ruing their earlier complacency and premature celebrations and couldn't believe how they hadn't yet converted such a lead.

The match was now 110 minutes old and with all players going for hoops 9 or 10, it could have gone either way.

However, we were due at the mothership at 645 for drinks and the match had to be called a draw!

What ho!

On the plane to Sweden now, peace.

Love that Alex is now referring to himself in the third person.

So Victoria's dream of me cooking her English breakfast in England one day is not getting any closer to reality. So instead I cooked her English breakfast in Sweden...

Significant progress has been made since the first epic attempt and this one went perfectly and was legit tasty! One bad egg that I decided to flip right at the end but still tasted fine. Lacked in ingredients slightly because Swedish sausages looked minging and didn't trust anything else.

Not worthy for the fry-up thread but it's blog worthy to document my progress from a few months ago...

Tomorrows she's cooking me her typical breakfast. Will get a snap to compare (food, not legs!)
