Considering the state of the games in Notts atm, (and Stato's back to back pre-and-post-Vegas SuperTuesday Final Table appearances) do you think you should grind more Stars mid-high MTT's as an income? If not, what would be your reasoning? Not rolled, too tough? Too boring? Another reason?
Hi Nathan,
Firstly, I am really enjoying the notts games at the moment, and I'm heatering them quite hard so enjoying them even more! There's a new crop of regs that are a good laugh and we meet up before games and gamble on OFC etc so it's pretty sociable and I seem to be doing OK at them so I generally will keep doing things I enjoy and am doing well at until they go to shit then I'll play more online.
Secondly, I am not in Stato's league for online MTTs at all, he's a beast - and also I know very good players who've suffered the wrath of mid-high MTTs on stars, and it just seem sooooo hard to realise any edge you may have. I'm on about a $35k downswing over the past 12months on stars not even playing that high (abi $60) so I'm not that keen on ploughing through the variance there when I can win at a pretty decent steady rate live, with downswings 10x smaller, much more enjoyable, sociable games and lifestyle and something I know I'm definitely +EV in, whereas with mid-high MTTs on stars, estimating winrates/hourlys etc is all massive guesswork.
If it's of interest I looked over how my hours have been split over the past 24 months and came up with this graph:
