We should make it illegal to post on Blonde with Abbreviation or Text speak so eventually members will become English Literate , however by concentrating their efforts too much they will "Prolly" lose their ability to play poker.     Smiley

Nice One George & GL  .

Not sure lilD can claim that tbh, if you search prolly you get 24 pages of results with the earliest post being June 2005 , prolly.

Sorry George, but I'm going to have to have one more moan before we get back to the important stuff.

People who use the word "prolly" (and I call it a word lightly) should be shot.

It is not a word. It is a bastardised American shortening because some of them are too lazy to pronounce the word "probably".

Think prolly and speshly are just I'll dave isms tbf

Laxie's the worst for it on here, but some other fora (2p2 for example) just make me want to scream. It's not even an official American word!

GTFO!!!  I don't say prolly, do I?  Definitely picked up the bad habit of saying 'proberly' hanging out on blonde.  Even gone as far as using it in day to day speech now.  Didn't think I said prolly that much though.

Pretty sure I've called you out on it before.

21 out of 14443 isn't exactly a huge result FFS!

There's a pretty decent omaha game in Leics atm however they charge 10 uid rake which for omaha is pretty steep. I wanna ask about a hand where I've probably bottled in as I'm not used to be so deep in omaha.

We're 8 handed playing 4/5 omaha. We have 4 cards. It's straddled to 5. It's a 2/2 game and I'm in the bb. Limped multi way when it comes to be (think we're 6 handed) and I have  . I just make up and the straddle checks.

I am playing 1300 at the start of the hand. I sat down with 100 (I know mbn etc etc)

Flop is  Two Diamonds. Checks through

Turn is the

I check. Checks to villian 1 (playing 250ish) who is pretty poor player, often limps blind and over values hands hugely. He bets pot. Villian two (playing around 800) in position flat calls. He can also over value hands but not as bad as villian 1. I have him on a set also- but he could have straights/flushes too.

River is

Now I have the third nuts. Action is on me. There's around £130 in pot. What is the best line here?

Bet/Call
Bet/Fold
Bet/Repot
Check/Raise
Check/Call

Might seem like a trivial spot for Omaha sicko's against poor players who over value hands but want some thoughts as may venture out to play in this line up every now and again

Probably worse than you at omaha, but bet/call would be my instinct on this one.

How much we betting? Say I bet 100 and villain 2 pots it- what can we beat for value apart from kk?

Ugh @ that hand.

Firstly, I'm kicking myself for not thinning the field pre.

My excuses would be (see, I'm good with excuses) that nobody will fold in these sort of games, so I'm just inflating the pot oop, & in truth, my aces are pretty bad aces.  I think, though, that better players than me pot it pre, & fire out on that flop, & they soon know the score, & have no more tricky decisions.

You have the third nuts, & we are only behind to    or

It is 4 card, not 5 or 6 card, so we'd be a bit unlucky to walk into either, but both are perfectly possible.

So, wwid now, on the river?

Well I'm over a grand ahead on the evening (I'm assuming, by stack sizes), so I probably do the usual wimpish thing & check call. Here are what I consider are my potential options.....

If I check, then it goes bet-raise, I sigh fold.

If I check & it goes bet-call, I call.

If I'm feeling particularly brave, I bet around half the pot, & fold if it goes (behind me) raise-raise, or call-raise.

I probably do the latter, (bet out) as the cheapest way out.

The worry would be that kiddo with Q-K, Q-A (unlikely) or some other shite underhouse (he can even have Q-2, daft as it sounds, danglers are so powerful, or he COULD even have Jx diamonds for a regular nut flush), he MIGHT think he has the abso nuts, & pot it or re-pot it, & if he does, then we have levelled ourself & it's hard for me to call then, & for that reason, I'd bimble about just check-calling.

Guess it's player dependant, too. Down at Luton in the DC, I would know excactly who would do what. If Gino potted it, I'm running a mile, if Chandra potted, I'm calling quickly.

There you go, Omaha as played by mega-nits.

FFS don't show LilDave or Greeky this.

I'm not. I'm always checking my option here. Why turn our hand face-up this deep OOP when we're getting peeled by everyone anyway.

I think betting is probably best now

do you then call if he pots it behind? being the bag+ up makes it a snap for most live 2/2 unless as Tikay says you know your villan has to have one of the 2 hands that beat you.

There are TWO players behind us, Jason.

If the first pots, & the 2nd re-pots, it's time for a Rennie.
