+1 to Majorca.

Congrats on the score
Can't go wrong with a Majorca/Menorca or even north of Ibiza.
All of my holidays as a kid were Majorca Spain Gran Canaria and as a kid all you want are the slides ice creams, beaches and other kids. As a parent short flights, kids club activity during the day, non-asbo families and some nicer restaurants who's menus extend beyond ham egg and chips.
Went to Turkey September 2012, Belek. Stayed in a 5* hotel and the hotel was v. nice, not 5* English standard though, but there was nothing to do outside of an evening and the whole resort seemed very Russian orientated - as it was out of season, apparently July - August majority English. If you don't mind sitting around a pool/hotel on the beach for 2 weeks solid can't go wrong with all inclusive food and drink 24 hours but as a whole it was very boring, the "town" was just never ending rows of fake Breitling and Lacoste polos. - Won't be returning which is a shame as other couples/families always talk about their best holidays being in friendly Turkey.
A 4* thomas cook or thomson package holiday with activites for kids will be best bet, can't go wrong with the Balearics.
/ramble over.
Parents decided on going to Ibiza at the end of the month for a break, don't actually know where about's they're staying. Mum is really good with everything holiday orientated and asked me where not to go, will piss myself if she's slipped up and staying in San Antonio at the start of the season.

I take the kids to Majorca most years and they love it(oldest 2 there now with their dad) very child friendly and loads to do for older kids. Went to fuerteventura in jan and that was ok for kids too.
Best place I've been is Ibiza stayed about 20 min walk from San Antonio and was gorgeous also walked down with the kids a few nights and sat on the beach at cafe mambo to watch the sun set and was no drunk idiots anywhere
Holidays are what you make them and you seem like a really close family so sure you will have a great time wherever you go

We've got an apartment in Cala D'or, Mallorca. The town itself is fantastic with great cove beaches, safe/clean water, excellent restaurants both in town and within a 5 min walk to the marina. We go a couple of times a year ourselves and rent the apartment out to families all the time and they all love the place. I'm not telling you all this to get a booking out of you (because we're fully booked in the school holidays except for 27th Aug onwards if that's any good?!), just wanted to let you know how amazing Cala D'or is.
Our website is

if you want to take a look at the photos of the area.
