+1 to all the posts saying they want both tours to co-exist. I've had my gripes with the GUKPT in the past (possibly related to my going 15+ events without a cash) but competition between poker providers can only be a good thing for players.

ha that was epic, lobbing £5k bricks at me shouting "redddddies"

Then saying he has paid me even though i refused to accept payment, fml, looking around every corner expecting 6 romford boys about to do a job on the lockeroom.

Crystal Maze sounds a great idea though, might change my mind.

Some may think it's misleading, others not, but it has to be listed at £560+0 on the online site, so that all of the money gets retained in the "prizepool" (holding tank) rather than some taken as fees for the online site. If it was £500+60, 60 would be taken as a registration fee when you buy in and only 500 transferred to the prizepool. I'd imagine DTD gets most of the reg fees for hosting the event, and so this money needs to go to them, rather than being taken by stars as rake. If you see any other direct buy in on an online site (there are some on ipoker) they are all done this way, and my guess would be if you asked Blue Square how they would do direct buyins if they were charging juice, it would be done this way also.

The person who claimed Jeff was being biased I'm guessing didn't read his 1st post where he states that in like the opening line.

Also, Chris, Stars aren't "providing a service" letting you by in online (thus we should be grateful and wear their patches). Jeez, this is their event, they want as many runners as possible and so they should be falling over themselves to create ways for people to buy in which may be the most convenient for them.

There are good points to both tours and points that should be learnt from both tours. I agree with some of the comments re how important a good TD is, as well as a consistently applied set of rules. Jeff's point that whoever wants £300k of added money into the poker community to "die" is at best short sighted. Plenty of Stars fanboys ITT who don't seem to be able to keep a balanced view.

Ps good point Flushy about the locations....

this does have a lot to do with Grosvenor continuing to build really really nice casinos in pretty terrible places, but it's prolly a slick move for them long term.
