No. The debate as to whether DTD fund any more Live Updates is, for the present, closed. It's their call, & they currently don't wish to pay for them.
Anyone, of course, can suggest to DTD otherwise, but I won't be raising the matter further with them, I know their stance quite clearly, & I don't have any issue or argument.

I kinda agree and disagree karluccio. For me and I'm sure many other blondes, interest wanes a bit when there's no updates. I don't really plan to play many / any dtd deepstacks this year, partly because half the fun for me is sweating people I know and the updates reminding me of the 300 etc. If there's a 300 and I'm not playing but reading the updates I seem to always wanna play the next one.

The tikay Bok Service is in fine form. I spoke with both of you minutes before play re-started & wished you both luck. GG me.

Agree totally, quite a few people think the same, too.
I played it yesterday, & loved every minute, but I did miss the Updates, & would willingly bunged in a few bob to have it.

I personally loved the updates. They made the comp feel more special. Like it was high profile.
I obv don't know how DTDs finances work but they've had overlays in the last 2 deepstacks. So had blonde been updating and the event got just 2 extra runners as a result then the updates have paid for themselves. Even if that's not the case then DTD seem happy to put overlays on and generally add value everywhere. An extra £650 every month to help give their flagship event that extra quality seems like great value imo.
We had this discussion a week or so ago - and I was questioned over my post. Where is Cos when you need him? This a well constructed post CF but reflects the assumed stance of Blonde. Surely Cos should be questioning whether this is really CF's thoughts or those of Blondes?
GL too all the Blondes still in though !!

I sort of played yesterday too.
Where do I ship?
If people have issues sending money from abroad etc can they not ship on ftp/stars to someone who can do it easily?

Yep, I'm not at home til tomorrow but will send bank details out to whoever has requested them then
I'll also get a viewable spreadsheet going so we can see who has funded what, with any special requests for events to contribute to, or not contribute to
thanks everyone

I like reading the updates and don't mind paying a 5'er a month for them...I don't want to pay for DTD's advertising budget for this event though, it shouldn't be up to blonde readers to ensure DTD gets enough runners for this event. (if you know what I mean)
[/quote]
Maybe the solution is a combination of these donations providing a percentage of the updates cost, and DTD paying for the rest?
