Tank,

I think you should be planning ahead for your next challange, as it will be very boring (for us) once you have completed this one.

couple of questions

1) Do you intend to carry out a similar excercise once you have finished this one.

2) Would you like supporters of this thread offer ideas as to what the excercise/challange should be (within parameters set by yourself)

I'm a great believer in taking one 4 month marathon challenge at a time.

Which by the way..............

Tank, keep us updated,  thumbs up

3) Will you be selling shares for your next challenge? Can I buy 7.5%?

1/ Not for a whiley, although once this concludes, I will move to my blog and start updating that regularly with what I'm up to.

2/ Wire in. Although if people have ideas for challenges etc, I'd definately encourage them to have a crack at it themselves. It's rewarding on many levels.

3/ No  Cool

Good Luck for the 24hour sesh! It'll be very tough but you'll feel amazing if you manage to do it. How many will you aim to do within those 24hours?

Why dont you ask for sponsers for the 24hr job, not only would it spur you on to complete, but put a few quid in Poker4charity coffers,

Start with £10

They'll be a bigger sponsored gig along these lines later on in the year. It is a good idea though.

I'm a believer that you can't do a sponsored everything left right and centre and hit the same folk up for money time and time again.

Because I feel you can only do them so often, when I do one I need a little more time in advance to make sure I can raise a decent amount of coin.

That being said, fook it, I'll do it. For P4C  Cool

A 24 hr internet poker turbo sit n go marathon. From 3am Saturday to 3am Sunday.

Sponsor me thus....

1/ 10p or whatever per tournament (likely to be 200-300)
2/ 10p or whatever per tournament I manage over 150 (likely to be 50-150)
3/ flat sponsorship of £1/£2/£5 etc.
4/10p or whatever per hour. (24)

Every penny of any sponsored dosh is going to the P4C childrens charity.

In addition to this....

IF over £150 of sponsorship is raised (in like 2 days) then I'll donate 15% of any net winnings that day also.

IF over £400 is raised then I'll donate 40% of the days net winnings.

IF over £1000 is raised then I'll donate 100% of any net winnings I make that day to P4C.

Post here, or another place I'm putting a dedcated thread pledging your support. Alternatively you can do so via pm-ing me.

I'll sponsor you 10p per tournament.  As regards the other P4C event I'll PM you early next week about it.  Im not in Glasgow at the moment but when I get back I'll drum up some numbers for you.

Day 109 - How am I going to play 240 STTs in 24 hours I hear you ask.
My first thought was 4 batches of 60.

I had a dry run of 60 tournaments without a break in preperation for Saturdays Sega mega-drive. It took me 5 hours and 35 minutes from when I registered for tournament number one to when I concluded tournament number sixty. During the night, tournaments fill up faster than during the afternoon. It would take me longer than that to complete 60 tournaments justnow (10am) as it will on Saturday morning/afternoon.

So I think the way to go is 3 batches of 80 tournaments without interruption. In between batch one and two I'll have 15 minutes or so to stretch my legs, attend to bodily functions etc. and I'll have a similar break in between batches two and three. Even then it'll probably be a close shave, if it was too easy there wouldn't be much point though.  Cool

I can confirm that a batch of 60 without interruption is very difficult. Three back to back batches of 80 will be nigh-on impossible. That's exactly what I'm attempting though.

I won't be able to do it without your encouragement and you can do just that by pledging your support. With 40 people pledging 10p a tournament (£24) we can raise around £1000 towards Poker4Charity. If that happens, I'll be donating every single cent I make on the tables that day. At a modest 5% ROI that'll be an extra $720 for the cause. If I hit 8.5% then thats another $1,224 for the charity. The weekend games are a cinch, so this is very possible.

Day 109 Results : +$657 (+$16,990 total)
ROI : 8.5%
RDR : 64.2 (11 overs left)

The response thus far has been very encouraging. I only announced it late last night and already we've had many peeps pledging their support. Thanks very much to all of them.

We've had fun on this thread, it's been some ride.
Now is our chance to do some good. Who's with me?

If you like the thread, you'll love Saturday. I need all your help though. If you don't wish to publicly post your pledge, you can pm me.
It doesn't have to be 10p per tournament, every little helps.

Sofa  up for this  Cool

I'll be here for most of the 24hours cheering you on Thomas. Batches of 80 are going to be a big strain on you so make sure you get plenty of sleep the day before, buy about 30 cans of red bull and about 4 packets of pro-plus! Smiley

Can I just say also, I think you're being very generous by giving your whole days earnings to p4c if sponsership money reaches £1,000, so  You have a heart of gold.

Best of luck Thomas The Tank!

If you get sponsored over £1000, and you (God forbid) make a net loss for the 24hrs, does that mean that P4C give you what you lost? Grin
