If there is one certainty in life it's that Macklin stepping down to 154 (a weight he hasn't fought at for 9 years) won't end well. Wel born probably won't be the man to do it as he is very fragile so hopefully Macklin deals with him quickly and we then get a decent price the next time Macklin steps in with a live opponent.

Remember that guy Costa Jr who was stopped in one by Dillian Whyte and carried 6 rounds by a pawing shot shy David Price, well an Argentinian he managed to TKO is fighting Luis Ortiz on the GGG undercard. Ortiz is a 22-0 big crude banger that has a track record for early KO's whereas Vidondo is slow and flabby. I really liked Paddy's 7/4 on rounds 1-3 and now the unibet group have put it up aswell. http://www.oddschecker.com/boxing/luis-ortiz-v-matias-ariel-vidondo/round-group-betting Alternatively lolblokes and baldy offer a 8 and 7-1 on the 1st round KO.

Yanks saying 5 dimes are cancelling props on Macklins bout due to the change to 10 rounds from 12 but Betfair can top that.
Betfair have overreacted by cancelling every round bet, method of victory and even 1x2bet. Reason being that under the round betting they listed 12 rounds and all of this was only noticed after the final bell went.
British bookies quite clearly state 1x2 and mov bets stand whereas betfair's t&c is ambiguous.

Saw the fight, but only just seen this, unfortunately. Great shout, and hope you had a lump on. Padraig were a bit ool compared to others, in going 7/2 for GGG 7-12. Didn't seem a bad bet, and they only let me have a score on anyway

Gonna feel as silly as a Nathan Cleverley backer if GGG ices Pepe Le Pew early doors tho.

I'd entered it as a loser after the 5th. Will be gutted if I have to, anyway.

Do they still do "nobbins" after a good fight?

Wasn't that only for amateur bouts?

Wasn't that only for amateur bouts? I think so, yes, it used to happen at ABA events at the local baths, but I've not heard or read of it for some time. It was almost a badge of honour, more than the actual money.

I think a decent in play opportunity will present itself tonight. Leigh Wood faces Josh Wale in a British title eliminator. The last time Wood stepped up to this level he faced Gavin McDonnell and for 3 rounds completely dominated before his tank emptied quickly and he was stopped in 6. His camp blamed it on him being weight drained which might have played a part (he has since stepped up in weight) but his unraveling in that fight was pretty spectacular so I'd be more inclined to think it was an underlying stamina issue.
Wale has been about at fringe British level for a few years now. He always tends to lose against anyone with ability but he has a great chin and a great engine. His one weakness is he cuts up pretty badly. After what happened to Wood last time I'd expect Wood to be a bit cagier early doors and preserve his energy for later. Wale will make him fight for every minute of every round though and add to the fact it's a big occasion for Wood (live on Sky) he might have trouble reining himself in. I expect Wood to dominate the first 3 or 4 rounds and go very short IR. Given his previous stamina issues I'll be looking to oppose him at that point.

Is it just me that wonders about the credentials of fighter managed by the Hearns who boasts an "unbeaten" record which includes two draws?

I don't give any Hearn fighters credit, unless Bazza or McG have said they're good
