Terrible stoppage. If I was a pro boxer I would nnever want to take a fight with a British ref.
Which fight?
DeGale vs Gonzalez. Gonzalez had his gloves up, pawing away shots and the ref stepped on for no reason.

lolz, Disagree that his gloves were up or he was blocking shots as he was doing both? what more do you want the boxer to do, stop, take his gumshield out and say "im fine to carry on ref"?

Universal size isn't it, under the Queensberry rules? Or have I made that up? 23ft or something like that.

Thought they were like football pitches (only smaller), and so you can have them different sizes within the limits?

Ironically the one fighter not in a position to defend himself at the time of the stoppage was James De Gale.
The fight was very close to being over, but it wasn't over.

Flipside is he walked away from the ref trying to get more time when he was knocked down earlier and on eight count and ended up getting at least 20 seconds so it should have been stopped then.

Rule one:
To be a fair stand-up boxing match in a 24-foot ring, or as near that size as practicable

Yeah if he had stopped it on the first 10 count then I would have no problems. Don't let the poor guy recover then rob him.

Right. Never been a Froch fan and don't particularly like either of these chaps, but I've slowly come to the view I really want Froch to win.
Someone compared him to Ricky Hatton today. I nearly spat out my drink.
Only a matter of time before someone compares him to Roberto DurĂ n...
