Beware  ! ..The Edinburgh festival starts on The 12Th of August and the place will be absolutely packed, especially come  the following weekend for the UKIPT .

I know first hand as I'm taking the girlfriend  there for the weekend  on The 12Th and getting a room in advance has been a nightmare. If they have got availability  (rare )the prices are not cheap and even worse if you are thinking of driving as apparently there are parking problems too  (I eventually got a room £610 for 2 nights including parking)

Maybe look a bit closer to home and make a concerted effort to make Day 2 of The Dusk Till Dawn Grand Prix which isnt going to cost at least £500 in accommodation and is not 280 miles away .

Seems better value for money   Smiley

Someone was asking why the Stars packages for this included £1000 for the accomodation...

Just don't get why they have this here at this time.  It pretty much puts it out of the budget of any sensible grinders.

looks like good advice, but in your current capacity as a promoter for dtd - you should leave the last 2 lines out for credability

Yes, I'm sure the UKIPT has a big impact on the nr of rooms available during festival time in Edinburgh Wink

Last year was exactly the same but I managed to get an apartment on the quay somewhere. The corn exchange as a venue was more tilting

If you want to pay a monkey for a std hotel room for the night and be unable to get a decent restaurant reservation it probably is.

Other option is book a house a few miles away and chop the cost with your mates. We've got a 4 bed house (with 2 dbl sofa beds as well) for like £800 for 4 nights.

The hotel cost was the reason I refused to go to Brighton. Abso redic charging £250 a night for a £500 tourney esp with all the other costs.
