The good thing is you have a big interest in the consolation event, can you still get pick number 1, 11 and 12 in next years draft from your trades?

I think I prefer Tighty's system, but I'd still want some form of incentive to try to win the consolation trophy. Even if it was something as nominal as entry fee back.

In the NFL, the teams that don't make the post-season are ranked by how they did in the regular season, so tenth picks first, then ninth and then the four teams that played for some money go 3-6, with 7-10 decided by how the top four teams did.

That said, I benefited from the system as it stands, traded 1.01 for Megatron and someone in the Lions coaching staff had flipping well better be aware he has OMGBrandonBrowner "guarding" him on Monday...

There are also the side prizes like best individual score which are designed to give every team an additional reason to pick their best available each week. I'm reading Tighty's "tanking" to mean trading for picks and potential rather than not playing the best 10 players each week.

We all signed up to the league as is, at the end of the day, and it's 99.9% about the craic for me, so I'll go with whatever. I'd not suggest any changes to be implemented in the 2016 draft, though, because we've all theoretically had that system all season. 2017 earliest if agreed.

correct, trading now players for picks and a better roster in the future if you draft well.

still pick the best line up every week but aware that you have a development squad that will lose most weeks.

by trading at 0-5 you've created a competitive imbalance in the league between who you played before the rebuild and who you played after anyway

the bi-product of your rebuild and "tanking" the current season's win-loss record, should lead to the top draft pick

but no, nothing should change yet. as i said, is should have read the rules

Anybody know how the side prizes look atm in the redraft league?

I know I have the highest one week score in the B league currently but can't get into the A league to check.

Ninja find

REDRAFT STRUCTURE BASED ON 2-LEAGUE SYSTEM
As per the above post, the plan is for two leagues to run side-by-side with a normal prize pool competed for 'within league' and a combined side-pool consisting of competitions which everyone can compete in together (and which give an incentive to keep playing through the season).

Based on an unchanged entry fee of £30, £20 will form the league prize pool and the remaining £10 will be used for the combined competitions.  The combined competitions will be as follows:
1) Overall best 3-week aggregate score from any weeks of the season (as per last year)
2) Overall 1-week aggregate score (as per last year)
3) Combined 'Breakdown' league (this takes all players in both leagues and does the calculation that you seen in the 'Breakdown' tab on nfl.com - so works out the best team based on all teams playing all other teams in every gameweek).  If this can be done across the full season, including play-offs, it will, but this is dependent on every team having a fixture (so no bye weeks in the play-offs for anyone).  Failing this, it will be based on regular season results only.
4) Best draft result (this will simply use the season-long totals of the players you drafted, in the highest scoring starting roster available, regardless of how long they stayed on your roster or not)

The leagues, regardless of whether they're 10 or 12 team leagues in the end will pay top 2 post-playoff places on a 75:25 basis (so £180/£60 for 12 teams, £150/50 for 10 teams).

The side comps will pay the following, based on whether we have 20 or 24 players overall:
3 week aggregate comp: £120 (12 team structure) / £100 (10 team)
1 week highest score comp: £36 (12 team) / £30 (10 team)
Breakdown league: £80 (12 team) / £70 (10 team)
Best Draft: £20 (12 team) / £20 (10 team)

The relative sizes of these are to assign the higher prizes towards overall consistency and giving an incentive to stay interested throughout the season.  The 3-week comp is highest as I want to have a tangible short-term prize worth competing for (so even if your team when 0-13 in the regular season, you could still theoretically compete for it in the play-off weeks).  The biggest issue with any of these leagues is having an inactive manager so this is a way to try an incentivise everyone not to do so.

Hope you like what's proposed.  It's been tricky to figure out something for the separate league structure, but this looks to me to be a good way to keep everyone interested in what's going on in both leagues as they run side-by-side.

Pawnstormers Head Coach, Magnus Talsen, has rejected criticism of his wide receiver selection in recent weeks, saying he wants to ensure everyone on his roster had the chance to impress for the playoffs.

Now underdogs against the Blacklaw Outlaws, Talsen believes his team is primed for a big performance.
