A few pages back i posted how i got out of jail on the Man Utd game and then Dallas winning for me -2.5 when all the shrewdies were on -3.
I then backed over 2 goals on the Ipswich game and greened up very early to show a nice profit before playing the Harlow dogs last night.
Those who have read from the start will know this is my old stomping ground and a difficult track for dogs that have not been round there before as the track is soooooooo tight, last night i had £120 on Villa when i saw the team sheet
(think they are a lay for a few weeks now) and also picked 6/8 winners at £30 per bet on the Dogs either outright win or without the fav to book a £500 nett of footie loss on the night.

I like your degen challenge; I'm gonna do something similar with my mates starting with £4 shots up to £100k.... averaging price of 1.5 over 25 shots only on football markets on betfair; if I can even get to 15 shots it will enjoy the sweat.
Are you creating a new thread for this sweat.

Serious question.
Do you still think you have a gambling problem?
I read earlier in this thread about how you'd lost thousands and been in trouble with loan sharks etc. but had sorted yourself out and become a changed man.
Maybe I'm missing something but planning a £4k to £100k spin and booking £500 losses on footy doesn't seem overly reformed.
Not having a dig btw as I'd happily do it myself but I got the impression that you'd kicked in gambling and just played poker instead?
Recent posts suggest otherwise.

Hi Matt,
The main difference between now and then is a self discipline that you can only learn from being at what they call ROCK BOTTOM, i have been there and dont wish to go back there.
In terms of my gambling now i am selective and the £500 weekend included the £150 six max £50 petrol some food and the football from the weekend, I didnt post it itt but if i have a nice bink ie £7.5k cashes in sports betting/poker in the weekend before Wales and the weekend after minus 2k in entries/ bets laid out spending money in Wales left a 5.5k surplus of which Petra got 1.5k, plus £900 to clear her credit card, £600 went towards Xmas presents and then i gave her £300 to go and buy some new clobber for her and Max and i spent £200 on me. edit and gave Tighty £200 for the October deepstack update!!
Then i might have a little press up on my stakes for a few bets to scoop but once my run stops you will find me back to a £30 treble to rebuild, I dont think i would ever not gamble as i hold no other vices so would be pretty boring but i have no debt except a half share (not on paper) in 1million of mortgages.
Also the spin up is £40 to £100k, i am prepared to lose £4k in total but that will be over a likely 1 1/2 year period which as this will be most of my sports betting for that time i am comfortable with.
Thx for your concern though

If each bet was even money you would only need 12 winning bets to get to £163k and chances of success are just over 4000-1. Given that you have 100 pops at this the chance of success would be 400-1. (I think)
Might do the math (unless you already have) to see calculate odds needed to hit the £100k after 15/20/25 bets.
£4k on a 25/1 shot just doesn't have the same appeal.
Good Luck.
edit: at 1.45 you get to £100k @21 wins (almost!)
Hi Sir P
Yeah a variety of prices could see it done sooner or a bit longer, I dont want to say how many but you are quite right having the whole £4k ona 25/1 shot does not have the same appeal.
I think doing Even money shots would be more difficult if you imagine flipping a coin and trying to get 12 correct in a row although i may have a stab in the challenge i would prefer the 1/2 way as its still like flipping the coin but its slightly heavier one side

yeah i know bud and on paper any gambler who bets in good figures has a scary total outlay but if i had not binked that weekend and the next i defo would not have spent so much,i still always press a little when your in form and reign it back in when not.

You get 28 days to buy a repossession, need to let the mtg company/solicitor etc know and everybody will work to that time scale. The person losing the house can technically stump up the money during that period to get out of losing there home or if somebody came in with a bigger offer they can take it although it rarely happens.

When you buy a repo the company will ask you to exchange within 28days or they reserve the right to sell to someone else, also the property will remain on the market and can be shown to other buyers coupled with the fact the agent will have to place whats called a "7 day notice" whereby they tell the world either in the newspaper or internet what your step daughter is paying for the property, its the only type of house sale where this happens and if someone offers 500 higher the agent puts it forward and then they probs come to ask for more from the buyer or they threaten to sell to the new buyer.
They need to get the deal through and do all the right things survey instructed asap and tell the solicitor you want to exchange within 28 days, if you work quickly and dont delay then they will normally give you a few more days if needs be.
I will do my best obv and i never said it would be easy

wow, this is pretty interesting
I did a blog about my take on gambling addiction and post-posting it I have had a few e-mails from people sharing there definition of what IS ACTUALLY A GAMBLING ADDICT
So Rich without being too personal (I am genuinely interested) - can you define
a) A gambling addict
b) a problem gambler
c) a degenerate gambler
d) a recreational gambler
