Ok well I'm back in the real world of work and real life so will have to do a TL;DR style post to catch up with what I have been upto and then will add some photo's and go back and review my 2012 goals later on.
Happy New Year everyone and lets hope 2013 is a healthy and prosperous one for all readers!
I will start back on 23rd December where I text Dubai and tell him I fancy laying Norwich and opposing whoever Swansea are playing over the next few weeks in the Prem league so started off with a lay of Man Utd vs Swansea leaving me a liability of £200 and when Man Utd went 1-0 up I told him to lay them again at an even shorter price for a further £100 which left me -£300 or + £650 and after Swansea equalised and a short time later I got out of the negative pos and my book was -£12 +£300 with the latter proving to be the winnings in the 1-1 draw, unfortunately all profits were done backing over total points in the Cincinatti vs Pittsburgh game and a break even day was had.
24/12 is Petra's Slovak Christmas Day so as described before we have 2 celebrations and open presents on both days and try to keep her day as traditional as possible which usually means we eat breakfast and then nothing till late afternoon when we have their traditional xmas meal of Fish soup which is made up from the head and fins etc of the Carp fish that has been filleted and the only difference from back home is that the Carp is normally caught in a lake and left in the bath swimming around for a couple of days to clean it out before being killed and eaten, obv does not sound amazing and the fish is really boney but it is actually a nice taste and is served with a potato salad and then desert.
I also sniffed out a bit of value as really thought Sizing Europe would be shorter than 1/2 for a race on 27/12 and had £400 on in advance which proved correct as it won at 1/3 and then Christmas came..
I have an incred wife as whilst she was browsing through the tv channels on xmas eve she say shall we watch this and being a red blooded male thought it would be rude to say no, obv I was watching for musical content
http://youtu.be/b7MJAjxXTSgMy mum was with us for Christmas and Boxing Day and we had a great day with Max opening presents himself for the first time and Petra did an amazing Xmas dinner with my only input being a starter of Scallops with Chorizo and Black Pudding and a dash of sweet chilli sauce (in before Celtic tells me I'm sounding like Dubai) and it was a really nice family day.
Boxing Day started with some work on Max's room (pics to follow) and some studying of form before playing poker in the evening in the first event of my staking package and on the betting front the only bet had was £200 on Swansea win or draw and Chelsea win or draw at 2/5 & 1/8 which returned £315 total which immediately went on Swansea and draw and Man City and draw at 1.699 & 1.134 for the weekend as part of the Swans/Norwich plan.
I bricked the poker on boxing night and then the horse won which sent us to Bluff for their tournie in good spirits but never got going on day1b and needed to re-enter for 1c which went better and had an above average stack going to day2 with 107 left and 80 paid but unfortunately I lost some flips early on day2 eventually busting in 95th losing 88 vs A8cc which sent me home disappointed, more so after the investment of £100 on under 2.5 goals in the Sunderland vs Spurs match and£125 on Billy Kee to score for burton vs Southend at any time both lost leaving a lower Dubai balance than we went into Xmas with.
30/12 Lost £100 on the place market when backing George Guru to be in the top2 at Lingfield and more following Kukushkins tip on Over 41 match points in the Baltimore vs Cincy match with no points in the first qtr and it being exactly 41points for another loser, infact the only light at tother end of the tunnel on the betting front was the £450 invest on Phil Taylor as documented in the thread before the start of the darts at 9/4 but this was looking rubbish with MVG playing incred so had to sweat out him getting to the final before the tide started to turn.
NYE was a washout as neither Max nor Petra were awake at midnight so I was left to let the old year out the back door and the new year in through the front door alone and 2013 was here with me hoping to start off with a few winners as Petra tells me in Slovakia they say whatver happens on Jan 1st stays the whole year so it was important not to be a loser on Jan 1st...
