Ok well I'm back in the real world of work and real life so will have to do a TL;DR style post to catch up with what I have been upto and then will add some photo's and go back and review my 2012 goals later on.

Happy New Year everyone and lets hope 2013 is a healthy and prosperous one for all readers!

I will start back on 23rd December where I text Dubai and tell him I fancy laying Norwich and opposing whoever Swansea are playing over the next few weeks in the Prem league so started off with a lay of Man Utd vs Swansea leaving me a liability of £200 and when Man Utd went 1-0 up I told him to lay them again at an even shorter price for a further £100 which left me -£300 or + £650 and after Swansea equalised and a short time later I got out of the negative pos and my book was -£12 +£300 with the latter proving to be the winnings in the 1-1 draw, unfortunately all profits were done backing over total points in the Cincinatti vs Pittsburgh game and a break even day was had.

24/12 is Petra's Slovak Christmas Day so as described before we have 2 celebrations and open presents on both days and try to keep her day as traditional as possible which usually means we eat breakfast and then nothing till late afternoon when we have their traditional xmas meal of Fish soup which is made up from the head and fins etc of the Carp fish that has been filleted and the only difference from back home is that the Carp is normally caught in a lake and left in the bath swimming around for a couple of days to clean it out before being killed and eaten, obv does not sound amazing and the fish is really boney but it is actually a nice taste and is served with a potato salad and then desert.

I also sniffed out a bit of value as really thought Sizing Europe would be shorter than 1/2 for a race on 27/12 and had £400 on in advance which proved correct as it won at 1/3 and then Christmas came..

I have an incred wife as whilst she was browsing through the tv channels on xmas eve she say shall we watch this and being a red blooded male thought it would be rude to say no, obv I was watching for musical content  Wink

http://youtu.be/b7MJAjxXTSg

My mum was with us for Christmas and Boxing Day and we had a great day with Max opening presents himself for the first time and Petra did an amazing Xmas dinner with my only input being a starter of Scallops with Chorizo and Black Pudding and a dash of sweet chilli sauce (in before Celtic tells me I'm sounding like Dubai) and it was a really nice family day.

Boxing Day started with some work on Max's room (pics to follow) and some studying of form before playing poker in the evening in the first event of my staking package and on the betting front the only bet had was £200 on Swansea win or draw and Chelsea win or draw at 2/5 & 1/8 which returned £315 total which immediately went on Swansea and draw and Man City and draw at 1.699 & 1.134 for the weekend as part of the Swans/Norwich plan.

I bricked the poker on boxing night and then the horse won which sent us to Bluff for their tournie in good spirits but never got going on day1b and needed to re-enter for 1c which went better and had an above average stack going to day2 with 107 left and 80 paid but unfortunately I lost some flips early on day2 eventually busting in 95th losing 88 vs A8cc which sent me home disappointed, more so after the investment of £100 on under 2.5 goals in the Sunderland vs Spurs match and£125 on Billy Kee to score for burton vs Southend at any time both lost leaving a lower Dubai balance than we went into Xmas with.

30/12 Lost £100 on the place market when backing George Guru to be in the top2 at Lingfield and more following Kukushkins tip on Over 41 match points in the Baltimore vs Cincy match with no points in the first qtr and it being exactly 41points for another loser, infact the only light at tother end of the tunnel on the betting front was the £450 invest on Phil Taylor as documented in the thread before the start of the darts at 9/4 but this was looking rubbish with MVG playing incred so had to sweat out him getting to the final before the tide started to turn.

NYE was a washout as neither Max nor Petra were awake at midnight so I was left to let the old year out the back door and the new year in through the front door alone and 2013 was here with me hoping to start off with a few winners as Petra tells me in Slovakia they say whatver happens on Jan 1st stays the whole year so it was important not to be a loser on Jan 1st...

Jan 1st

I texted Shallow and told him I wasnt backing the Swansea/Draw, Norwich lose or Draw double as it only paid 1.43 which was too short although it came in so instead I lost £150 on 2nd half goals to be higher than 1st in SPurs vs reading and £150 on Wycombe vs Exeter BTTS and got the reply from him saying
"Bring on 2014 running bad already"

The evening was all about the darts and I had hedged my pos with a visit to 7 local ladbrokes shops to put £50 on each on MVG as they had an offer where if a player scored a 170 checkout you got stakes returned on losers to a max of £50 (small edges ftw) so when Power checked out in the second leg on 170 we got the free roll if Taylor wins which obv he did and a winner on Jan 1st 2013 we were!!

I used £250 of my free bets (laddies dont return hard cash apparently) on S.Bunting to win the BDO darts and had a further £150 with Shallow which got GG'd last night before backing Sunderland +1.25 @ 11/10 as they have played some decent sides and only lost by 1 goal until I back them ofc when they ship them in for fun and no further bets were placed till 4/1 when Shallow was at a loose end and wanted something to watch so as I didnt want him to lose alone I had £100 on over 2.5 goals in Walsall vs Portsmouth and after 40mins and 2-0 it looked good but despite over 30 shots on goal a 3rd one never materialised.

Saturday was just 1 bet £150 dbl Spurs 1/5 and Chelsea 4/6 with the whole £150 profit put on Houston -3.5pts vs Cincy @ 1.91 rendering a further £132 profit which turned more when I had £220 with Shallow on Arsenal to score 2+ goals vs Swansea at 10/11 and £110 on under 46pts total in Seattle vs Washington for a good punting weekend.

Which brings us to today on the punting front where we had lost and I still dont know how £220 Villa to score 2+ at 10/11 vs Bradford and £50 EW on Chompys horse at Donny.

Work has been a steady start with a couple of deals and it's picked up with client activity this week plus I have been offered a promotion to help run another office as well as my own as a mentor to one of my young guys who does not have the experience to manage yet but will work with me for 12-18months before taking over the reigns himself so this will bring a further ££ stream to the household which will be good whilst Petra is on her next Maternity leave but more on home life later...

Generally not a bad time to put on the market however lots of vendors wait from end Oct till now so you do normally have more competition in the housing market therefore you need to be a bit more price sensitive unless you are in a quick sale area.

2013 IMO I cant see anything in the economy that will change to improve things so the rich will get richer in the south east and it will be tough elsewhere so would plan on doing the same business I did last year.

Spoke to 3 different shrewdies who reckon that although the Quantitive Easing is going to mean more ££££ made available for mortgage lending they all said independantly that 4-7 years time will be the next property crash and I was with them at different times over Xmas and New Year and none of them know each other....

This last one was taken from the top of the Hotel after we got chatting to one of the security guys and he took us in the lift to this special area where the views were incred and to the left behind us is the Atlantic Ocean and to the right is the Caribbean Ocean split by about 1/2 a mile.

These were my goals for last year with results underneath each one

NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS/GOALS!!

1) Maintain this diary but this year I am going to keep a record of all my bets and poker tourneys to see how I get on as because any mini binks get swallowed up with life stuff it would be nice to see the true result (having been honest itt since the start I have no probs with this)

Achieved part one just about but failed to keep an exact record of results which is kinda disappointing as I know I won due to the holidays, work done on house we had.

2) Final table at least one poker event in the £200+ live arena, last year i finished second in 2 x£100/150 100-300 runners and made a couple of day 2's of bigger events and reckon in the live arena probs showed a small profit despite not cashing in anything £300+ and am constantly thinking and learning about my game so really hope to tick this off.

Obv binked the £150 on a stake for 5figures and finished 3rd in St.Kitts in a $500 tourney although not many runners so will award a tick here.

3) Maintain a healthy Family/Poker/Punting/Work balance and appreciate the flexibility Petra gives me on these scores and the weekend a month up in Nottingham plus other trips.

I think I just about managed this during the year although packaging events close together on a stake requires an art in selling it to the boss

4) Post more in PHA instead of reading and thinking "yeah I would do that" and not be worried about posting first even if I get flamed.

Failed here and will be carried forward to 2013

5) Continue to work on my game by spending some hours per week watching training vids/discussing hands with better players

Didnt put time into watching vids but defo discussed more hands with people I class as better than me this year

6) Devote a certain amount of time/volume per week to online play as when I was chatting to Pleno (still BITB) and worked on a few things over a 2 month period my game defo improved and showed a decent 40%+ roi (over a small sample) on euro sites but towards the end of the year I was playing more Live and doing nil online except the odd satty to something.

Failed as really enjoyed Live this year but this will change in 2013 due to upcoming birth.

7) Cut out bets on live events just for the sake of watching it even though it may be £40 these bets all add up during the year!!

1/2 tick earned here as I still just punt it off sometimes on really random stuff just to have something to watch

Finally I want this year to get and stay in shape for the year as over the past year I have put on a little bit of TERRY and although I still have a decent shape need to refocus on this. I dont wish to put up any weight targets like in other threads as for me it's about how I feel I look in clothes as opposed to weight.
I am currently one of David Lloyds fav customers in that I maintain my Gym membership but dont go  Sad so am going to go 3 x per week to get back into it and do my a good carido circuit to get back in shape and then work from there.

Again a 1/2 tick earned as I trained hard for 6months but cut into 2x 3month periods where I knew I had a holiday comng up and am now back into it post Christmas again

Am going to post some pics (obv breathing in) so I have a starting point and something to look back on.

GL me in 2012!!

Overall I think I had a good 2012 and refurbished 3 rooms in the house and added a ground floor WC with proceeds from binks in poker and sports betting and had my first ever 5figure cash in the middle of the year whilst maintaining a fairly healthy life balance.

Now for 2013 goals...
