Girgy - if your trainer is half decent and you've made sure he has proper qualifications then £30 for 3x 30 minute sessions is excellent imo.

Also hummous is incred.

I think Tzatziki >> Hummous >> Tahini >> Taramasalata >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> they way any of you pronounce them.

Meh, if its getting him into the gym 3 times a week that's 80% of the job done anyway.

I'm sure he is and pushes you hard which is great etc. I'd still always check his qualifications.

With all due respect, how do you know what 'clued up is'? If a trainer told their client 'Activating the transverse abdominis (pulling the stomach inward) is the key to stabilizing your spine when squatting' you would automatically think they are very savvy. How do you know if it's bollocks or not? How do you know if it's safe or not?

In my gym in London I think there are 5 or 6 regular trainers and one of them is basically disliked by all the others. He still gets clients as people don't know any better but I do cringe when he's making people deadlift and their back is bent as fk etc.

Just advice to anyone considering getting one really. Obv personal recommendation is good and the gym should have checked the person is qualified and good (which is usually the case at David Lloyd/Fitness First etc) but otherwise always check their accreditation and google what's needed to gain that.

Mostly agree, but it's just good advice for anyone considering shelling out on a trainer.

I'm very much in favour of personal trainers and I usually work out alone.

like cos I mostly agree with this. however if girgs was to get bad advice on form while doing exercise he could end up picking up unnecessary injuries

odds are that if he's allowed to work in the gym that he has the qualifications though but it's really something that should be checked rather than just assuming

Well basically my idea of clued up is he always telling my about my techniques etc. he gets me there 3 times a week so all good by me.

He taught me a lesson.other day tho. i asked to do some bench press so he put me on smith machine and fucked me up so it messed his session up cos he wanted me doing dips and pull ups assisted obv so i won't be questioning
 him again.

I had a Ginsters extra large ploughman's roll.

It was lovely.

haha

Made up for the ploughman's roll with a wicked gym session and a very healthy dinner.

Just about to have a walk with Ronnie then supper, another protein shake, peanut butter and bed.

There's still hope yet.

Usual Thursday though yeah ;-)

Hell yes.

Won't be missing curry night unless I'm way of waistline target with 4 weeks to go.

Don't understand why you would need a personal trainer? if your a complete noob at using gym equipment then fair do's use one for a couple of session but otherwise you can pretty much get a really good workout program off sites like bodybuilding.com not only that but you can get a nutrition plan also.
