Do you realise you are thinking aloud here? He's a journalist. They do that a lot. I was thinking the same thing Barry, but decided it didn't make sense considering who we're talking about. Now, if we were on about __________ well then obviously it would make perfect sense.

Awesome treadmill session today.
Completed 6.4km in 57 minutes. burnt around 660cals.
Had my final session with health trainer today. signed off and going solo. really good free program tho and if ur bi is <45.0 then your eligible for surgery. A guy i work with has recently had the op and is currently in early stages on pure food but he's dropped 2.5st in a week or two.
Got my PT tomoz and will prob be boxing followed by half hour on treadmill.
Looking forward to Monday weigh in cos im close to being sub 23st which i havnt been for a very long time.

What did you do? Proper MMA fighting shit or did you just enjoy the training?
I never had a proper MMA fight. Just enjoyed the sparring although that was tough enough. I had a couple of proper BJJ fights which were fun though. Does this make you the hardest block on Blonde? After MC maybe.
At the time I guess it would be possible. Not knowing what anyone else does it'd be tough to say. I'd have confidently taken on anyone though as long as it was under controlled conditions. These days I wouldn't have thought so. I can obviously still swing a punch but the conditioning side of it is so crucial and I just haven't got that any more.

15 mins of conditioning work at the start of muay thai classes is by far the most intense workout I've ever done, abs brutal

Compare it to 2 minutes on the floor grappling though and you'd be amazed. We had a couple of marathon runners come in as new starters once and they were both totally gassed out in under 2 minutes. It's just about being conditioned for what you do. For example I could grapple for 5 minutes quite happily which you wouldn't have a chance at. Try to get me to run even 1/10th of what you do though and you'd be looking at a dead man.

Doing boxing bag and pad work is a killer. Used to do it with a partner, one holding the bag whilst the other throws combinations for 2 minutes, then swap. Then do the same with the pads, then back on the bag.
After a few rounds of that it's hard enough to keep your hands up, never mind throw combinations. Somehow professional boxers (not including Audrey Harrison) manage to do that for 12 rounds and have to contend with another bloke smacking them in the face at the same time!
