Also out of interest, do any of you guys live near each other?

I go to the same gym as FUN4FRASER and have been working out with him lately, which I think will be a great help this year, I recommend you lot do the same if you can find a likeminded gym buddy.

Managed to go to the gym yesterday, sat on an exercise bike and watched the Man City game. Not much effort, but as I was hungover, I consider it a small win.

Havent changed the diet dramatically, certainly not eating stuff I dont like - had stuff like scrambled eggs, porridge, humous - all of which I love. Only had bread once so far and we have bought a smaller sized loaf than usual.

Now off to the gym for my first 'proper' session of 2012 - cue an accident under a weight after five minutes and gg 2012 weight loss.

What we going to do if this happens to someone? Seems like a good 'excuse' if someone loses motivation and cba?

My way of thinking is that 2lb per week should be a piece of piss for people as overweight as most of us, so diet alone should see the weight drop off. Injury excuses should not be able to be used imo, what does everyone else think?

water and Lott's of it especially if you feel hungry

This! There's a stat that says 90% of people who think they are hungry are dehydrated. There's umpteen more benefits that are associated with this.

Personal opinion is that it shouldn't make a difference, imo eating habits should still change.

Maybe if someone can 'prove' an injury or illness, then they are allowed to reduce their target by 30% or something, but certainly not exempt from the bet.

personally i think it goes on the individual concerned but its our eating habits that is the problem for 90% of us doing this so should be fairly easy to lose the 24lb without much exercise!!

Well if anyone has a major problem with this they should say so now imo. It really shouldn't be a problem losing the weight on diet alone.

Good start Girgles.

I generally remember your eating patterns the last time you were trying - I'd urge you to really keep the carbs low. I would do alternate days with no carbs tbh - cut the bread and potatoes right down etc

Just knocked off my first 30 mins of exercise whilst I really cba, my body clock is still fucked from Vegas and I didn't get up till 2pm today. To dust off the cobwebs I did a 30 min brisk walk around where I live which is hilly, and threw in some press ups, star jumps, split squats etc while walking around.

Not eaten much today as I've not been that hungry tbh, had a bowl of porridge when I got up and I'll probably have something small before I go to bed unless I get hungrier than I am right now.  Smiley

Breakfast : porridge (half semi-skimmed milk half water) with teaspoon of honey

Lunch : scrambled eggs with smoked salmon

Tea : family buffet - a ham sandwich and beef sandwich, with small slice of pizza

Drinks - 2 coffees with sweetners

Somebody mentioned things that are going to come along in everyday life that make the weightloss hard, today was one of those.  I decided to use the 'not drinking in January' line as it seems popular and I CBA explaining trying to be less of a fattie!! Overall I'm happy with my performance at the buffet!

Yeah I'm doing that too as I will have pressure to go out on the piss the odd time this month  Cheesy

Got a work do at the end of Jan at which its unavoidable really, and will treat myself to a night on the piss early feb with friends if I'm on target

Just think its easier, loads of people will be off the booze in jan. I'm going to a wedding mid jan so will be drinking then I'm just trying to avoid the needless pints that soon add up, few after work that can be avoised!

Bought stuff for pack up, whole meal bread, salad and chicken. I want this to be sustainable and every time I've tried anything but sandwiches or pasta for lunch I've failed!

Two slices of bread, low fat spread, waffer thin chicken and salad with a cup a soup... Yum yum. Going to take fruit too for that afternoon hunger that often results in inappropriate snacking.

This is a great thread. Good luck to all the losers.

I've gained a stone over the course of the year, Vegas was responsible for half of it and Christmas the other half.

I'm back in my little programme now. I don't think I can join in with your prop because I only want to lose a stone. (Having said that, it will be a pretty tough stone because I'm not that much overweight).

Anyway. If no one objects I would like to post my efforts on here, but if you would rather I didn't, it's no no biggie.
