I've been playing badminton a lot this year Lee ~ great fun and a tough workout. Singles is unbelievably hard graft. Are you thinking of playing with the weight watchers crew or joining a club and going for it?

With my 3 fat friends to start with if they don't want to carry on then I will join a club! The 3 guys are who I done the three peaks with a couple of years ago

If you fancy playing with others Lee, I'd recommend No Strings as a good place to start. You will probably find that you improve faster there, depending on who else goes to your local session ofc. There's usually a good mix of players and the sessions may well be run by qualified coaches etc that offer free tips. In my experience, most regular clubs don't like taking beginners as they don't have court space ~ if your mates do drop out, being one of the better players at a typical no-strings session is roughly the entry level they would be looking for, although some larger clubs do cater for all standards too. Good luck with the weight loss and the badminton, feel free to shout if you want any badminton info.

I will weigh in on Jan 2nd and record my weekly totals on here.
As I am aiming to run a half marathon at the start of march I will also list the furthest distance and time I have completed for each week.
The running totals will no doubt be crazy and all over the place as obviously I haven't left enough time for a proper training schedule. Having said that I will treat the half marathon as a training run rather than an event.
Measured my waist yesterday and it is the biggest it has ever been. What makes this even worse is that though I am never thin as such, I am usually partaking in some sort of exercise so have more muscle etc.
Fortunately 'fitness' always comes back quickly for me once I get back into it

weight as of Jan 1 2014....... 18st!!
Quite embarrassed if I'm honest, I've been down at 16st 7lb for big chunks of last year so really need to sort it out!!
My aim is 15st, hopefully first stone will be from the huge amount of Xmas junk & will fall off!

Think I'll be joining you guys shortly, I've started to pile the weight on again, & it makes me feel below par, & lethargic.
I've binge eaten since I came off the diet, having achieved my target, but I'm almost missing my diet regime, & the self-discipline it needs, now.
Not weighed mysalf once since the diet ended, but I'm pretty sure I've gained half a stone or more in less than a month.
Will probably start on Monday, just need to get my head properly in gear first.

After a two week break, the 'Belt of Truth' on my work trousers told no lies. Back in the gym weight training and eating healthier both started today so I'm expecting the strain on the buckle to ease a little by the end of the week.
