This sounds good! Am travelling down by
National Express
a large, chauffeur-driven tourbus on the day, so a nice place to get some dinner anda good night's sleep is massively +EV.

Does anyone have any recommendations for hotels near Gatwick?
Four main drivers, in descending order of importance:
1. Near the airport
2. Clean/snooty
3. Somewhere to eat either there or nearby.
4. (Free?) Shuttle
Obviously, lots of choice about. Any loved it/hated it comments from those who've tried one before welcome.
I can recommend NOT to go to Russ hill hotel near gatwick with airparks !

You only have to walk out of the Hilton and you're in the South Terminal.

Hi Guys,
After a bit of advice in terms of the best way to exchange my ££ for $$$$.
I will have about $5k and have heard different opinions on the best way to take it over there be it Cash, Travel Card or Travellers cheque.
Can't really be bothered with the travellers cheques so wondered about the ease of using the travel cards be it fairfx or the general travel agents cards. Are there fees for using these in ATM's and how readily available are the ATM's in the casinos.
Of course I could just exchange it all for cash but obviously it is a lot easier to lose/ do in at the Rhino.
Cheers

If you want to do your money at the Rhino, you'll do your money at the Rhino, and it won't matter how you take it over
For $5k I would just take cash, and a quick search here will give you the best options.

That said, I've got a FairFX card myself, and I usually chuck $500 or so on it to pay for Duty Free etc.
I just had a look, and the FairFX card is a fixed $2 charge for use at an ATM.

Cash and you should be able to beat the best rate moneysavingsexpert suggests with a 30sec google search.
Change up at the best rate possible over here and if you have any left when you get back, there are plenty of people that will take it off you during wsop season.
Not that $5k is an awkward sized amount to put in a pocket, but you could deliberately end up with a few $500 or $1k chips, which are even more portable and less likely to get smashed in @ Rhinos.

I don't have an FX card but most, if not all ATMs in Vegas also charge a fee + often a worse exchange rate. Guess it depends how safe you feel with all that cash in one lump

I've only ever used one ATM, and that was in the OG, so I no doubt got ripped off every way possible
The FairFX US Dollar Card is among the best ways to carry funds to the USA and other countries where dollars are accepted. Enjoy 0% transaction fees and 0% management fees while locking in our highly competitive exchange rates, so you always know exactly what you're spending!
Lock in our highly competitive exchange rates when you load your card
Load your card when the rate suits you!
We charge a fixed $2 per ATM withdrawal in the UK and overseas.*** When used in the USA, There are no other per-transactions fees, no fees at all apply at point of sale.
That's what it says about the US card on their website, so I guess that's only their charges, and you get done again at some ATMs?

Have taken travellers' cheques before and they're dead easy to cash at any casino cage. Only hassle is signing them in the UK first. As Marky said, though, if you want to do your money at the Rhino (which I can only assume is a reference to the Siegfried and Roy zoo at Mirage. Bit odd, as I don't think there are any rhinoceroses there, but there you go), you will do your cash at the Rhino (presumably going to watch the sea lions. Cheeky little critters)

I stayed there last year, really enjoyed it, service was really good and everything was problem free and as marky said, you only have to walk out and you're in the South Terminal which is a massive bonus.
They also gave me a free bottle of red wine as well for no apparent reason which was a nice touch.
