I've been to Stockholme and Copenhagen before so I'm gonna start in Gothenburg for the night, then GOT - Heathrow - Vegas, San Fran - London and sack off the last leg as per. Best bit is that I have a voucher for STA Travel that will cover the main flights and hotels in America, meaning I only have to cough up for the internal US flight, the Ryanair £9.99 to Gothenburg (or whatever airport they class as Gothenburg) and a night in a hotel there.

Gonna be weird packing jumpers for Vegas!

EDIT: Hang on - is rob_52001 = hhyftrftdr and just putting the details of his flight with the free voucher? I am confused

37 hours to get there? I think I'd rather pay the going rate and not be totally tired by the time I arrive!

? example i posted was 16 hrs to get there
21 hours back  but that includes  wait time for and flight to gothenburg which you may choose not to take

however i take your point i would only do if i fancied a night  out somewhere before flying

He flies in to LA, then leaves from Vegas.  I did this on one of my trips.  Visiting 2 places and getting an internal flight between them is a bit different than doing all the flights in one go.

I get ferried around airports without queuing anyway, so might try this next time if I can.

Interesting stuff, gents.

I did all the home work on these Vegas flight last year we were intending on going in September i had flights for 4 lined up at £315 each (which was half price to what i could find flying uk to Vegas ) was going to go for two weeks hiring a car in LA  and then Visting here and there before getting to Vegas
We did not go in the end sigh

At the time start and end was Dublin  so did not object to night in Dublin before flying next day and was intending on getting off at Heathrow (hand baggage only ) on return
Dublin comes up more expense now

But if anyone wants to  try just select multi city option and play with outside uk start and end points

don't know if it helps but i was looking at flights as i might be trying vegas for the first time next year...i found a decent way to get a direct flight was by buying virgin air miles with tesco clubcard vouchers, £170 in vouchers got you enough miles and then it was just the taxes etc to pay and it worked out reasonably cheap. Easy way to accumulate clubcard vouchers is to get their credit card and put everything through it then pay it off each month.

These flights are just absurdly cheap. Granted, more faffing around, but to get to the west coast of America and back for £250 really is crazy, especially as its using the direct London flights for a leg there and back.

And one persons faffing around is another persons opportunity; the chance to see somewhere new before jetting to the States.

For people who would want to check in luggage, but would also want to 'get off' in London, whilst I've been mooching about looking at these flights I've seen some that fly back to Heathrow and then your connection to Europe is from Gatwick, so you'd have to collect your luggage; perfect for avoiding it being checked through to your final destination.

I didnt get time to mess around with the times.
Definitely a cheap option and a couple of days in LA at the end before direct flight back to London.
