Brilliant. Can you upload any of you material?

This is from my first (very short) set after the comedy course I had been on. Not great quality but filmed from the back of the room.

I do have video of Saturday - but my friend Miriam taped it so the camera work is very suspect, half way through she handed the camera to someone else in the audience to get a better shot and she deleted the first part......but it's just a bit of my original set then I've polished it a bit and added on to it. The idea is to get it video'd so you can review it and hear the audience, what they found funny and polish it/cut it/improve it as you go along. Professional comedians will do warm up gigs around the country before they tour, tickets are normally a lot cheaper because they are trying stuff out but you know that mostly they should be funny. If you have a favourite comedian check out their twitter and webpage because the warm up gigs are not publicised in the normal way but you could get to see a big name for cheap. Sarah Millican played just outside Northampton last year for £10 trying out some stuff in a pub that seats 50 people.

I'm not going to post my sets on line because people will check you out before going to a gig and they see your material before they go and then I probably won't give them anything different on the night.  Most comedians can use the same material for a year with a few tweaks because the audience will be different at each gig, once it's on line or on tv then it's mostly defunct. The material they use on the TV like 'Dave's one night stand' and other programmes tends to be mostly stuff from their tours that they've been using and won't tour again with so it's ok for it to be broadcast. Obv I don't expect to see my name in lights but as I am entering into a lot of competitions at the moment I want to keep my material fresh and under wraps so the competition cant get a look see before the comp.

So the Youtube piece is my first ever try and even now after only 2 gigs it's changed, bits added, better lines etc. It's a live animal all the time.
