Arsenal, away at Hull tonight, are 3-0 up at half time.

Saw a headline on Sporting Life earlier that will please some gooners.

Supposedly Arsene is rethinking the summer transfer policies, after the success of the current squad in 2015  scared

Double checked, and he actually said 'plans'

LOL Adz Grin

Not good for Fred and followers, but the best man won.l

Proper fairytale with Bingham winning, and it was definitely one of the best finals I can remember seeing.

Wasn't a patch on Ronnie Hawkins 2 years ago imo but it was still one of the better finals in my lifetime.  The 60+ minute frame was awesome and swung the game.  Really enjoyed watching it though even though i did my cash on it backing Smurf win only. Was weird watching Jimmy White looking at Bingham collecting the trophy in the background.  He must have been thinking 'how the feck has Bingham won this and i never have?'

Great for the game and motivation for all the other players outside the top 16 long term.

At the other end of the snooker scale Stokesfinest has finally decided to hang up his cue and join the benefits queue after blowing over a million in life time earnings punting and drinking!

What has happened today to force hung parliement to shift to 1.08 on bf from 1.12 earlier in the day?  Ladbrokes still keen to give it away at 1/9 commission free after laying their £30k at 7/1 to a 'well dressed/informed customer' on the tories in a Glasgow shop!  Surely fred must be happy having close to a max on this at 1/9?  ie £50/£450?  It is only the arbers who are holding the 1.08 on bf.

I thought it was different gravy, and definitely as good as that final, and I'm a massive Ronnie fanboy.

As for Harold, it says he has some property, so at least he hasn't knocked it all in.

Daily Report

Profit on Month £782.28

Outstanding Bets £3006.13

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1eCEvN9MELsUxB81rHuWrfoX3zwIMPQQ205Lcjm3kbgU/edit#gid=24

A profit of £45 yesterday, the e/w return on Murphy losing the world snooker final 18-15 to Bingham. Favourite at 15-15 the 63 minute 31st frame settled the game as from that point on Murphy looked discombobulated, his safety play fell off and then the long potting too in the final frame

ongoing positions

Arsenal's 3-1 win at Hull took them back level on points with Man C in the battle for second with a game in hand  (Sunderland at home). It also took Hull below Leicester at the foot of the table thus helping that "not to be relegated " bet

Danny Welbeck, our Arsneal top scorer bet was not selected and refused to sit on the bench. £200 loss incoming!

In the NBA The Chicago Bulls & LAClippers each win on the road to take 1-0 Conference Semi leads. For the clippers Blake Griffin with a triple double with w/ 26 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists

In the MLB The Boston Red Sox lost 5-1 to the Tampa Bay Rays

In County Championship cricket, a dramatic day at Lords with over 20 wickets falling. Durham hit 294 in response to Middlesex's 463 them reduced them to 37-7 in the second innings Eventually all out for 89, Mddlesex set Durham 258 to win and reduced them to 24-2 by the close

Elsewhere Lancs struggled to remove the Northants tail and they scored 385, Lancs 216-4 in reply thankt to an unbeaten century from Ashwell Prince

Election Forecast UK @Election4castUK

As of our forecast update later tonight, the prospects for majority government are now a rounding error.

i asked the man behind these forecasts, Professor Chris Hanratty of UEA about the most seats market and said that it was a) weight of money and b) expectation of shy tories/last minute surge that saw conservative most seats 1.2 with the polls still tied

his reply

Chris Hanretty ‏@chrishanretty 17h17 hours ago

@tighty I think Con most seats is most likely, but (a) I think mkts over confident; & (b) those have been in our model since beginning

i then spoke to the yougov rep who told me "worth noting that yougov is v confident of its polling technology..New methods of ensuring poll changes reflect sentiment not sample..."

ie everyone has tried to model in shy tories already.

yesterdays' poll was 33-33 con-lab and con needs to be a minimum of 1.5-2% ahead on thursday to win most seats

polls this time 5 years ago for Lab-con, were very accurate (less so LD): +6.9 con avg, vs +7.2 result

it might not win, but its going to be much closer than 290-260 which the spreads imply IF the pollsters have captured shy tories in their methodology and i continue to regard labour most seats as a stonking value bet, currently 9/2 on the exchange

if, as teacake suggested yesterday, some tactical voting delivers 8-10 or so seats to labour in scotland, then its even more than stonking

A very happy St. Totteringham's Day to everyone on Fred.

That's just the twenty in a row.

Morning Tighty.

I take it that you posted the 365 Juventus/ Madrid offer as we are still able to get some on. With our coffers bulging with Chompy cash I really think we should do something on this match as they are great offers.

So to start the ball rolling I would be inclined to go for Juventus and the draw in the hope of getting £50 profit. But happy to be persuaded otherwise. We just need to back something.

Morning hector,

Can't we adopt the methods so successfully adopted by Arsene Wenger & Mike Ashley, & save that money for a rainy day, for when we most need it, in the style of sensible & prudent people? (insert smiley to suit).

PS - Assuming we are not stymied by restrictions, yes, we ought to get on, of course. Tighty will doubtless, with some difficulty, prise the 50 crisp green pound notes from my clenched fist.

Joking aside, how good are we running of late?

Is it logical to assume that variance will kick in soon, & we'll have to endure a bit of a downswing?

i posted it more as a public service

yes, we can usually get the majority of the £50 on though in the 1-2-X market but not in anything more exciting

as to coffers bulging, there are about £400 of stale Premier league losses to take on 24th May (with hopefully a few winners too), so the figures currently flatter us

But if Mr Wenger was able to buy one player for £50m and get given another one to the same value free of charge then  I think even he would be like Ms Viv Nicholson.
