http://www.oddschecker.com/cycling/tour-de-france/top-10-finish

Michal Kwiatkowski: World champion & one of the classiest riders in the peloton.

Etixx - Quick Step have split the tour team to get stage wins in the sprints with Cavendish, but also to have a successful first week with Martin in the TT, & perhaps pass on yellow to Kwiatkowski later in the week on stage 3 or 4.

Kwiatkowski finished 11th on his first TdF back in 2013. His build up this year, after his early season Classic goals, looks to have been cut back. Only the Tour de Suisse, where he just seemed to be in training mode, with the hope to arrive at the Tour fresher than last year.

If he has early form he can perhaps find time on the big four in the first week. Second week in the Pyrennes should be ok for him. Final week in the Alps could be the downfall,  he can struggle on the long climbs. But he may find some help from Uran. But whatever, he does fight to the bitter end.

16/1 available, gives some value over 3 weeks imo. Rec £10.00.

PS had similar thoughts on Dan Martin, but at 9/2 best, looks too slim to me.

thank you

Sloane Stephens v Lucie Safarova

sloane is odds against

is this an interesting price?

http://www.oddschecker.com/tennis/wimbledon/womens/sloane-stephens-v-lucie-safarova/winner

I've backed Ms Stephens but didn't want to flood the thread with my marginal bets.
If you don't have BoyleSports, the best price is Betfair

Not really sure why Andrea Petkovic is still 500/1 with BoyleSports.
http://www.oddschecker.com/tennis/wimbledon/womens/winner

She can be laid at prices down to 420 on Betfair.
https://www.betfair.com/exchange/plus/#/tennis/market/1.114520035

She has a fairly comfortable match today against Zarina Diyas (who is not best suited to grass) and then, presumably, faces Ms Sharapova who is having all sorts of trouble with her serve (although the rest of her game has looked fine so far).

boyles were the first bookmaker to close us, all those years ago

nothing to do elsewhere?

400/1 sbet?

http://www.oddschecker.com/tennis/wimbledon/womens/winner

400/1 still seems good to me but the discrepancy with BoyleSports is too large to take it.
You can have £10 of mine at 500/1 if you want it.

I currently can't get 19/1 on her to win her quarter on Betfair so the 500/1 for the tournament must be pretty good!

rosberg referred to stewards after P1

Peter, how much of a risk is the toro rosso pace to the force india bets? looked very quick, great package considering their power disadvantage....are we lookign at low fuel etc to account for some of the difference?

I've been told by a contact that if a penalty is given to Rosberg, it will be a fine, not a penalty that will effect his race weekend.

Some of the difference will be low fuel, yes. Most of the difference will be due to Force India not pushing yet. With a new car, that session will have just been a shakedown with a baseline set-up, they'll start putting the pace on in FP2, and will continue to gain in pace every session for the next couple of race weekends.

I wouldn't be that surprised if Toro Rosso out-qualify both Force India's (and most other teams too), they are very quick over one lap but their race pace isn't great so I'm still fairly sure our bets are safe Smiley

Green Jersey tdf

one column says

"it's hard to see anything aside from misfortune preventing Peter Sagan from winning it again, and the currently available 2.00 looks value"

http://www.oddschecker.com/cycling/tour-de-france/points-classification

do we agree with that statement. is he a good thing?

he has won it in 12,13 and 14

sorry more questions

so froome, contador and quntana are the top three in the winners market

froome won the criterium and looks to have a great team with him

contador won the giro and has, er, considerable help. probably.

quintana was ru to froome two years ago

last year nibali was brilliant, no one cracked him and he rode away in most of the high mountains

yet he is 11/2 fourth favourite for this?

http://www.oddschecker.com/cycling/tour-de-france/winner

is he not in form? is 11/2 not an interesting price?

Points system has been altered this year to try & reward the pure sprinter. So if for example the Cavendish of a few years ago could win 4 stages he would probably win green. However the sprint stages look like they won't go to one single rider, Cav & Griepel, & perhaps Kristoff.

Sagan will regularly be top 5 or so on sprint stages, but will also look for intermediate points. But the biggest factor in his favour is the lumpy difficult finishes where he will always out score the pure sprinters. The only way he does not win is if Cavendish goes on a 3 or 4 stage winning streak or crashes.

Evens is prob value. Likely to go odds on early in the first week. Not for me personally, but Fred has deep pockets at the moment so yes?

Nibali won his National champs impressively, he has a history of hitting peak form at the right time. I've tended to under estimate him. I've not had a bet yet. But this week have come around to thinking that Quintana will win if he survives the first 9 days in ok shape. Hoping his price drifts to 4/1 or better.

Reading the cycling media this week all four have a damned good chance & have been backed by various journos. Opinions opinions!.

John Lloyd talking about the ten greatest servers of all time when putting Raonic into that category but he doesn't even mention the greatest server of all time imo Andy Roddick or Scud.  So much dead wood in the bbc comm's team for me who are picking up easy money year after year (Lloyd and Castle are the top two super annoying ones amongst others).

less painful than the boring chants being rolled out by the aussies on the rail, most boring Ive heard since gloucester rugby fans.

Raonic is barely even the best server in this game.
