This Dutch girl really does look like she is on 'roids to me.

only 23 years old though, so i wouldn't be rushing to put her in the cheat camp. that's the price all these athletes pay for the suspcion in the sport these days though

Yes that is a big factor.  Would agree with that as the possible explanation for the huge improvement alongside her age.

One for the older guys as i am just too young to remember Kathy Cook (former British 200m record holder for nearly 30 years until today).  How good was she in the drug fuelled era of Eastern European athletics in the early 80s?

She was good , really good.

cheers Booder.  Great video.  Pretty incredible to do what she did as a part time athlete with a job competing against systematic drug cheating.  She must wonder what she could have done with lottery funding etc etc had it been around.

it is amazing to look back, east germany won 37-47 gold medals in each of the 76,80 and 88 olympics and 37 of those golds were in athletics.

None were clean  

Was she clean though?  Given the times she was putting up in that era?  I always think the same about Sharon Davies as well fwiw given how close she was getting to obvious serial drug cheats in the pool from the same countries.

If davies was on something it wasnt what the germans were taking lol, she did a documentary about it and interviewed some german who she competed with her and the lasting effect was she was basically a gadge.

As for the sprinter, she is dutch, of course she is on drugs.

Why is cram so aggressive in his approach to gatlin but not others who have failed tests. Do you have to fail two or not threaten to win or what? veronica campbell-brown got off without the abuse depite the fact it was close on her denying a brit a medal in the 200m but gatlin beat like one person home in the 100 who hadnt failed a drugs test and furthermore been let off way easier than gatlin.

How stupid would Cram look if Bolt failed a test?  He talks about Bolt like he knows everything about him and has access to all his training logs etc and is 100% certain he is drug clean which is so hard to say for sure when virtually everyone in Bolt's country has failed a test at some point and Bolt is the fastest man ever to live.  Cram's approach has been very odd throughout the week.

Tomorrow is the rugby league challenge cup final. I think it will be a high scoring match and a win for Leeds by 12 + points. I am going to avoid a man of the match bet as it looks like it could be a set up for Sinfield to get it in his last season.

I do however think that the person who will be most influential, Kallum Watkins, can be backed to score at anytime. Hull are weak in defence, especially in the centres and that is the area that Leeds attack best with Watkins, Moon, Hardaker and McGuire all targetting it.

The Preston over Leeds spread bet is up to 6.5 points to sell now (It's Preston points minus Leeds points).  This makes little sense to me - Preston have struggled for goals (5 points) while Leeds have drawn all 4 matches.   Leeds looked decent in patches to me against Burnley and Wednesday in the televised games and I think they'll improve this season under Rosler.

I think it's a sell.  Recommend £3 if Fred wants it (in line with the size of our other positions).  Max downside probably 40 points in the unlikely scenario Leeds are at the foot and Preston make playoffs.
