next England RU coach

last three appointments have been English with no international experience. robinson, johnson and lancaster

results with these has to suggest they will go for a very experienced Southern Hemisphere appointment

it needs someone with new ideas, willing to stand up to the old farts (on issues like picking players playing overseas)

the two main candidates are

jake white, the coach of the SA side that won the RWC in 2007. Currently montpellier coach

Eddie jones, recent Japan coach, now off to coach the stormers in the super15

not going to get gatland. or cheika.

white has said recently

"“If they were genuinely interested and they approached me, of course I would be interested. It’s one of the biggest jobs in world sport and you’d be crazy not to consider it.”"

"“When I was with the Boks I was approached to put my name in for Rob Andrew’s job,” White is also quoted as saying in the Daily Mail. “Then they contacted me before appointing Martin Johnson and Stuart Lancaster. All three times, they’ve gone for English people. “The last three World Cups must send a message: if you go for a coach who’s never coached international rugby, it’s going to be same old, same old."

jones said on 5th oct

“If England approached me, would I listen to them? Of course I would but whether the RFU part ways with Stuart Lancaster is a big and difficult decision,” he wrote in a column in the Daily Mail. “A proper review is needed to find out why they changed strategy halfway through the tournament.

i don't know who they will appoint. white is a bit easier to get out of montpellier. don't think the pair white/jones are 2/1 - 5/2 dutched though

Anyone involved in the BAGS track championship selection on Newcastle i put up ew a while ago their 4th heat of 5 is this afternoon.  Newcastle have won the first race already this afternoon.  They should confirm their spot in the final the week before xmas today all things being well based on the betting for each race.

I will confirm later the final results for today's 4th heat.  Newcastle won the 3rd race as well.

Not a recc for Fred as many can't get on but for those who can:

IACGMOH - Most Trials

Eubank 5/1 Sk.y
Bannantyne 33/1 B.wi.n

Both well overpriced

i spotted (h/t chip prince)

Bannantyne to say "I'm out" at the end of a trial 12/1

if he's doing trials, he's going to say that at some point yes?

Betfred. £10 max.

Can't be a bad bet. He's not in there for the money, is he?!

apparently he is a very funny guy. the narrative is you are going to see a side of him we havent seen before etc etc. PR for reality shows, nice job if you can get it

i assume it means "i'm out" of completeing the trial.

anyway, back to shaking my head at strictly song choices.

Wasn't/isn't he a regular at a few gaming establishments in London? Anyone able to confirm his appeal to an... ITV audience?

Well here I go

He's just been through a very expensive divorce. There was a recent financial scandal with an £8million fraud in the Bannatyne Group where a 'culture' for similar frauds and 'creative accounting' existed.

I also saw him doing some low cost advert on a Sky Tv channel recently.

Looks like he has some bills to pay?

Newcastle 18 points clear in their Northern group for the BAGS track championship after today's heat.  One heat left to go.  Will be pretty hard to over turn them with an 18 point advantage.  Even if they do they should qualify as a highest scoring loser anyway.  Huge price they finish 3rd in their group and don't make the final 6.

put up jenkins up at 150/1 for the pdc worlds the other night not sure if we got on.  He is 4-1 up against taylor as we speak.  150/1 will be long gone in 30 mins potentially.
