Morning Tighty.

There may only be three people in the world who think that Dominic Thiem can beat Djokovic today - me, Dominic Thiem, and Dominic Thiem's mum. However, unlike the last tournament that Djokovic won in the desert, this one is in Florida and it is muggy and less like a typical hard court and closer to a clay court. Thiem is good on a hard court, but excellent on clay and has won 2 titles this year. On slower courts it is easier to break serve which I think gives Thiem a chance to win this. In his first match Djokovic got broken once, and in his 2nd match he lost his serve twice so there are definite signs of vulnerability.

Of course it all comes down to price. I think this match, and Nishikori should he meet him, are his likely hardest tests. I think Nishikori would be about 5's and I would have put Thiem at the same  but we can get 8-1.

Suggest £15 Thiem @ 8-1 with Ladbrokes. Take the 7's if it has gone by the time you read this.

Thiem is 10.5 on the machine.  Absolutely no chance Thiem is a flip to beat Nish on this hard court even with Nish looking under the weather yday.

Magnus Carlsen has a film coming out about him soon. He was followed around for the last 10 years by a documentary maker. Here's the trailer. Who knew chess was so exciting and dramatic? (Everyone obviously)

A couple of photos to finish this chess thing off, then, as we are quiet:

Last year's challenger, Vishy Anand, congratulates Karjakin.

Karjakin answers questions for the assembled press.

Here is the video.

Karjakin has a profound stammer but he's used to talking to the press and the press are used to talking to him. Indian Shreevesy gets his questions in from about 4:55.

"Seconds" are nothing to do with dinner; they're the assistants top players have to help with their practice and coaching. More like sparring partners. It's often the subject of speculation and there is usually one or more the players like to keep quiet about, in case there's a clue as to what they're preparing. If you were bringing in Ricky Hatton as your coach, your opponent would expect you to be practicing being more aggressive. Floyd Mayweather might be more about head movement and so on. This applies to chess, too.

England a lay?

I dont like betting on friendlies as a rule of thumb but England along with other big English teams are somebody i like to oppose as i think in general we are always going to be under priced. I would love us to win all these friendlies convincingly so that we can come into 4/1 for the euros and then i can lay England with my house!

England 1.8 to lay, are we to short now? Will Roy get a bit more experimental tonight?

Is there to much guesswork to make a convincing argument either way in this game.

Help.

Help.

I can't see this being a bet.

Firstly it's an international friendly.
Secondly the Dutch have an absolute shed load of injuries.
Lastly, I liked the look of England v the Germans (who are a lot stronger than tonight's opposition) and I can't imagine Roy will be too experimental.

I can't reveal my sauces but it's worth flicking a bit on Ernesto Valverde to be next Barva manager at 33-1 with VCTfTlurkers.

i tried for much more than this

Ernesto Valverde Barcelona Next Permanent Manager
33/1
Total Stake: £10.00
Potential Returns: £340.00

Now 10/1 best price.

Cheers both, backed at 10.0 earlier and just laid off at 7.8 for the freeroll.

Sounds like Rob Elliot been badly injured tnite, if price on Newcastle relegated hasn't already moved could be value there, we have no experienced GK now.

Isn't there a different rule for getting a loan keeper in, in case of circumstances such as this?
