just got this from stan james today.
"Dear Phillip,
Thank you for your recent email.
I am writing to inform you that the bet you placed on New Zealand to Win the World T20 Outright was accepted in error.
When your bet was placed no each way terms should have been offered.
Therefore your each way bet has been cancelled and been replaced as win only for your full stake.
This is in accordance with our rules."
how can they get away with doing this? this bet was placed on 22 march, now they say 6 days later it was an error, took them long enough to decide!
- Bet was an each way bet 1/2 odds top two on New Zealand for T20 world cup which I placed on the evening after they beat Pakistan at 10/3. I am not even sure I would want to have a bet win only but now they've just given me that. I'm surprised that they can just change my bet 6 days later when the market has totally changed. Is this normal?

That's terrible. How can a bookmaker not honour that. If they voided it before the off then fair enough but that is ridiculous.

For completeness, Anand drew today, meaning Caruana had to win against Karjakin as black. It was too much to ask, as Karjakin played solidly and cleverly. Caruana had to throw caution to the wind and lost.
1st Karjakin (8.5/14)
2nd = Caruana, Anand (7.5/14)
The Russian, born in Crimea and who used to represent the Ukraine, will be a popular winner.

what price will he be to beat Carlsen?
what price should he be to beat Carlsen?
when is it?
will he beat him?
enough of the questions, yet?

2. what price should he be to beat Carlsen?
3. when is it?
4. will he beat him?
5. enough of the questions, yet?
I've added numbers to make this easier
1. Carlsen has to be a good favourite. He's got two world championships behind him now and the experience of playing the same guy over and over is valuable. Also a better player of course.
2. Head to head is Carlsen 3, Karjakin 1 and 14 draws from their 18 classical games. They were both prodigies (Karjakin was 12 when he became a GM; a year younger than Carlsen).
3. 11-30 November in New York.
4. If he plays like he has this month, he really could. Carlsen will not enjoy playing against such a strong endgame player, particularly when Karjakin also has a skilful opening repertoire. There's a lot to like in the matchup. It's still Magnus Carlsen, though.
5. For now, but I'm sure we can consider a suitable sweat nearer the time.

Three Fat Ladies is up first with the market:
Carlsen 7/20
Karjakin 2/1
That's about where I'd put it, as we stand today. Plenty of chess to be played between now and November.
Karjakin was born in Crimea and originally played for Ukraine. He switched allegiance to Russia a few years ago. I expect he's a popular winner in Moscow. Their last World champion was Kramnik, who lost his title in 2007. If you wanted to find a 10 year period without a Russian world chess champion, you'd need to go back to at least 1927-37 (Alekhine and Euwe), but that's slightly cheating even then, as Alekhine was playing for France as an émigré, having escaped the Russian revolution. Before 1927, it was Cuba's José Raùl Capablanca (Joe Whitehead to you and me) who followed the great Dr Emanuel Lasker of Germany (Top dog 1894-1921).

Not a bad set of L1 results today. Wigan go odds on.
Wigan were 10 pts behind leaders Burton in mid-December before the Latics 18-match unbeaten lge run.
Burton failed to score in consecutive league games for 1st time since 3-match run in October.

I can't reveal my sauces but it's worth flicking a bit on Ernesto Valverde to be next Barva manager at 33-1 with VCTfTlurkers.
