One I've spotted for today's Golf 3-balls at the Open de Espana, Alejandro Canizares to win his 3-ball, mainly going off what some well known tipsters have said about the course that it will be good scramblers and sand savers that do well at the Valderrama this week, from Fairway wedge;
"In terms of statistical trends, the ability to scramble here is vital. With the greens being tough to hit, players are going to have plenty of opportunities to get up and down from off the green so a magic short game is certainly going to help. Of the last five winners of the events outlined above, the lowest any champion finished in scrambling was 18th. As a result we’ll be using that as our first key stat this week.
Our second key stat will be driving accuracy. There have been a number of quotes from various pros about the importance of keeping the ball in play at Valderrama in order to give yourself a chance. Mike Weir previously commented, “It’s a very precise golf course. You have to hit it in the fairway, and you’re usually penalized quite a bit for your misses.” Given these comments and a slew of consistently straight drivers triumphing here, we’re definitely keeping the accurate drivers onside."
and from golfbettingsystem;
" Hitting the narrow fairways at Valderrama is only a small part of the task at hand as is clear from the stats of the most recent winners on this track. GIR stats as low as these for winners is extremely rare which emphasises just how difficult it is to hit the greens here and the winner is going to need to have an outstanding week scrambling from off of the putting surfaces in order to compile a winning score. Valderrama truly tests all aspects of a player's game and any weaknesses are often cruelly exposed."
If we look at the stats of the players in his 3-ball, we can see that he's best placed to win this 3-ball, and 888 & Unibet make him the outsider at 9/4... Most of the big bookies make him favourite so not sure why these 2 are opposing him...
