Tennis: WTA Mallorca Quarter-final

Sorana Cirstea v Jelena Jankovic

Jankovic is 2.2 to win on Betfair (and all the bookies have Cirstea as favourite too).
https://www.betfair.com/exchange/plus/#/tennis/market/1.125253984

For the tournament:
http://www.oddschecker.com/tennis/wta-mallorca/mallorca-open/winner
https://www.betfair.com/exchange/plus/#/tennis/market/1.125227654

Cirstea can be backed at 18/1 whilst Jankovic is best 4/1.

There is something amiss there, I think!

The only possible reason that I can think of the price discrepancy is that JJ might have an injury (and hence might be doubtful against Cirstea but if she is fit enough to win that she would be favourite in her next two matches) but it was not evident in her last match.

Am I missing something? I'm not aware of Cirstea having religious (or other) objections to playing at the weekend. Smiley

Other possibly relevant information, Cirstea has a 4-3 record over Jankovic including a win on clay a month ago. This match is on grass. Cirstea is having a return to form after a couple of years in the rankings wilderness. She is currently ranked 97 whilst Jankovic is 25. Jankovic is as temperamental as ever.

Jankovic drifting in the outright and that 18/1 is going fast.  Only Fred and 365 have it. Gogogo

TfT can have £20 for Cirstea to win the tournament at 18/1 if you'd like it.

Don't think I have a say, but will 2nd it/first it.  Will happily also take it if Tighty says no.   Assume Jankovic has an issue of some kind.

I watched some of her previous match and there were no obvious issues apart from her playing like a plank.

Not for Fred

But am I right assuming the TikayBet five places in the 4.20 at Ascot is a max bet on the five shortest horses bar the favourite for anyone that can?

Cristea looked good this week I thought - if I were to make an educated guess it would be that the 18-1 is wrong, and also Jankovic is almost certainly too short in the outrights.  It's very strange though I agree.  If she's dog to win today, then what does her outright price imply about her match odds in the semi and final?  Baffling.

Only if you want to get your account restricted, I'd suggest.

<edit> It's only 1/5 odds too so not really a great spot.

Odds on favourite plus a bunch of absolute rags.  Not just a great spot, it is a fantastic spot.

Note...

365 are doing their usual "in play bet offer" on  Eng v Wales, for those that get offered it.

I think Dungbeetle has it spot on, one is too short and the other a huge price in comparison.  Either player will be a strong fav in the semi-final which makes Fred odds and the e/w terms offered ridiculous, 9/1 cirstea to make the final is really big for those who can get on.

I am not sure why, but fred and 365 are both 4/1 on Architecture in the 3.40 (beats betfair).  Her and Minding were miles clear in the Oaks.  There is the possibility of a hard race taking its toll, but at 4/1 can live with that.  Can't believe the price, expected much lower.

Suggest £50 win only Architecture 3.40 Ascot at 4/1 (or whatever we are limittd to).  Give it a miss if the price goes.

It's one of Betfred's pushes which 365 auto-match hilariously so won't be there long. Along with Order of St George to 11/10 (less in love with that) and there's ew thieving to be done on that race instead.

What price is Kane to score direct from a corner?
