Isn't that odd - they gave me a £5 Free Bet, & you got "£5 cash".

I assume you cannot withdraw that fiver?

Not tried but I believe I could - my account statement calls it a 'Bonus    Manual Adjustment - 5GBP Cash Bonus', it's not mentioned in my free bets/bonuses section, and in the withdrawal section I can put my full balance including this £5 and it gives a green tick.

It's a great & very well thought out write up, & a good read, so don't worry about that.

Fred does not have BMU these days, & it would pain to take worse place odds elsewhere, but no matter, it may well interest others.

Reading what you wrote made me insta think of Adzy, who is so good at the jumps game & generally has sound observations. Fingers crossed he'll be back with us soon.  

14/1 4 places is good if you want to bet (is what I've done)  - Wasn't purely targeting the BV offer

Is 14/1 4 places much better or worse than 12/1 6 places?

I should add I'm very busy with work right now, & am a bit lost with some of these finer details. Tighty is intermittently AWOL at the mo, too, as he has some family illness issues to contend with.

I'll probably get on board shortly, unless any major negatives become evident. 

If the market was well formed on BF and and we could get a similar win price with the 6 places that would be my preference - However it's not and my reason for bet is more based on my view that price is going to be a lot shorter on day - So both are fine at this stage I think with 6 places being slightly less variant obv

Unlesso anyone else has strong view I think there is not much in at this stage

The current vogue with Online Bookmakers - well all Online Business I suppose - is called "segmentation".

It's quite a science, actually, & it's fascinating to see how a Client Database can be sliced & diced.

Quite how or why some get a fiver in pound notes, & others a £5 Free Bet is another matter, but I'm sure there's a logic there somewhere.

Wm Hill certainly suffered badly last week. I would not wish a DDOS attack on any business, it's thoroughly horrible.

On that topic, it seems Wm Hill will be the Programme Sponsors of the new ITV Racing Coverage. A few weeks ago they claimed to want to merge with Pokerstars (Amaya) in one of the most perplexing tie-ups ever, but that went belly up.

Surely Clinton 360 EC votes @ 13-1 or so in Betfair is to big?  She is under 6-1 to win Georgia and a late swing that took Georgia would surely mean a sweep of all the battleground states as they are correlated.   Thoughts?

I certainly think there's value in a Clinton landslide. Polls have started to swing back towards her after she was cleared (again) from the emails thing on Sunday but because it happened so late the polls probably underestimate the positive effect for her.

As you say the states are correlated and it looks like you or someone else has crashed into this bet on BF as it's now only 8.something, whereas still available at 12/1 with PP, for example.

One market to look at is any one with Clinton getting over 400 EC votes (different bookies have different bands for the EC bets). This essentially means 'can Hillary win Texas' as that has 38 EC votes and would send her flying past 400, carrying plenty of other southern states with it.

538 gives Hillary a 5.6% chance in Texas yet Ladbrokes have Clinton 410+ at 50/1. If she wins Texas there is nearly zero chance of her not getting 410.

Also, anyone who wants a short-priced one - Clinton to win NH at about 1/3 (4/11 with Coral). She's polling better here than in Nevada, yet Nevada is about 1/5.
