Anybody got 365 still?  Rybarikova is 150/1 for the US Open.  Tenner each way would be good for thread.  I wouldn't say no either.  Konta best 10/1 now.  Meant to post the 12/1 with Hills but too slow.  Sorry.

Just seen this & placed £10 e/w for you Doobs and also for TfT

I'm happy to keep the other if Tighty doesn't fancy it.

I missed almost all the Wimbledon stuff, because I was putting my liver through it's summer paces.

I have been pulling for Fred & Blondes out here, even though it means getting up at 5am Cheesy

One of the most impressive juvenile performances I have seen was put up by Invincible Army at Newmarket last time out.

He returns on Thursday to C&D in the July Stakes.

He is currently 10-1 and I expect this to be around half the price on the day.

Chuck £15 ew at the 10-1s if you are in a good mood please.

Would go plenty more for Fred but with weather changeable over the next few days, best not to go mad.

Seems to be best price 11/2. As low as 9/2 in places.

Half the job done.

GL to anyone that spotted it in among the proper sweat Grin

Got this one, and Padraig even let me have a score e/w.

Cheers mate!

Thanks.  Please send bank details.

Bit more flesh on it.

It is a bit punty.

She has been fairly mediocre for a long time.  Obviously having a great grass season.  There is no reason she can't carry that on to the hard courts.

This result should put her on the borders of the top 32, so in the main draw.  If she wins overall, she is top 16 and no Wimbledon winner is going to start 150/1 for the US Open.

Obviously not as great as bergeroo's bet, but there is probably sla smidgen of value.

I'll do a bullseye on the other 2 in a double, so you're golden.

With regards to the US Open. That price on Rybarikova certainly can't be bad and I'm sure she'll now start shorter as long as she's fit. She had a number of finals at top level on North American Hard courts 2011-2014, so clearly she can play on that surface.

Personally I'm taking a wait and see approach to the US Open. I've got a number of young players on an upward curve on my shortlist and will see what happens in the next six weeks on the circuit. Will be looking for the ideal combination of form, fitness, but still under the radar somewhat which Rybarikova fell into this time. Most of the bookies currently only have prices for the top 30 or so ladies anyway.

Flushing Meadows will I'd say it still be a good tournament to bet an outsider. We saw the stat that an unseeded player made the semi finals in x number of ladies Grand Slams in a row. But Sharapova should be there and Azerenka and Kvitova will have had another two months on the circuit to get form and fitness, so competition at the top will be a little tougher and it isn't the perfect storm that Roland Garros and Wimbledon have been for backing a long shot imo.

I am not convinced there is a great deal of difference between backing two 10-1 chances for half stakes in one race and two 10-1 chances for half stakes in successive races.  I don't think he has proved it either.   Isn't it the number of bets between a win that counts and not the number of races between wins?

FWIW I think betting many horses in good each way races is much better than betting one runner in every race, but that isn't for the reasons he discusses.

Also if you do bet two runners in a race, then you do get some benefit as assuming genuine 10/1 chances, chances of going two bets without a winner in successive races is 0.826 [(=10/11)^2].  If they were in the same race it is 0.818 [=9/11].

I'm actually going to go out and not watch the match today. Too nervous. It has been a really fun sweat and cool that so many Blondes were also on and Konta has progressed on the opposite side of the draw.

Nice article on Rybarikova from a couple of days ago
http://www.tennis.com/pro-game/2017/07/wimbledon-rybarikova-vandeweghe-ostapenko-konta-muguruza/67477/

And tipped up here vs 'over-rated' Muguruza for the match today
