He spent a couple of years on the European tour, so he may have played a bit more llinks golf than other young US pros, and Erin Hills isn't far off a links course.

Most of the bets placed so far seem more like hopeful punts rather than value spots

Erin Hills is a standard US course in links clothing - it actually played nothing like a links despite looking like one.

Any particular reason Koepka is as big as 44 on the machine?
Awesome in the US Open, he hasn't played since. Is he carrying an injury?
Looked like a future superstar last month.
I'm a huge Koepka fan - was all over him at The Masters - but his erratic play in the weeks leading up to it just put me off in the US Open and went for Pieters instead.
Not playing since winning the USO is a most unusual preparation
- especially so for The Open - combined with the fact he is a very high ball hitter I find a little off-putting.
Having said all that I wouldn't be surprised to see him skate in again.
That's what makes me think he might have an injury.
I don't follow golf as closely as I once did, but certainly can't remember a topplayer missing so many tournaments in the heart of a season.
He played a practice round or at least had a tee-time booked at Birkdale yesterday afternoon.

Big Brother is not as good for betting purposes as it used to be but sometimes a winner still slaps you in the face. Get on Isabelle @ 5-2 in a few spots. £50 please.

She's not the brightest, except when it comes to skin colour. She's bright orange. She should be odds-on though. If the Betty market was as strong as five years ago she would be.
She's a million miles clear in the polls and is just being herself. Very sweet and gets on with everyone. She reminds me of Alex a few series ago, when BB used to be good, but this time opposition is very thin on the ground. She nailed the phone call to her sister last night. Should be twos on.

Don't let that stop anyone who wants to recommend an EW bet with 10 places though, for those that can.

Betty has an each-way market which is the same terms as Scuy, fifth the odds ten spots.
Generally the prices are about the same but Scuy are better for a few around the 50-1 mark, the likes of Oosty and Noren.
Ollie Watkins an excellent signing for Brentford btw, think he's going to be a special player.

Seems to be a very open field for the golf, no clear favourites going into the tournament. There's a couple I like.
Andy Sullivan @100/1 each way, 1/4 top 6 with Baldfreds. He showed decent form at the Scottish last week to finish tied 9th, and has finished in the top 20 4 out of his last 5 tournaments including 2 top 10s. Recommend £10 e/w.
Padraig Harrington @66/1 1/4 top 6 with Bald's. One of those ones who could really roll back the years and put in a real challenge for his third claret jug but could just as easily be sat with his feet up come the weekend. Very impressive last time out in Scotland to finish in the top 5, despite a blow up on the Saturday. He also won the Open last time it was played at this course. Recommend £10 e/w.

There were a few suggestions (rather than recommendations) from Adzy yesterday, here;

Top debutant - Andrew Dodt. Played some nice stuff in big events this season and finished T4 at the Scottish Open last week so clearly links golf doesn't hold any concerns.
Top European - love Francesco Molinari at the prices. Great profile for this week and best major results have come at the Open. In good form this season and his wedge game is better than almost everyone has in the game currently.
