I have quite a strong fancy for Catriona Matthew's chances this week in the ladies' Open Championship taking place at Royal Liverpool's fine links course aka. Hoylake. I'm on.

She's in good form having just finished 5th in the latest LPGA event which saw a welcome return to winning form for my old favourite (although still young) Korean lady Jiyai Shin after an almost two-year winless streak compounded by wrist and eye-surgery and also swing/coach and caddy changes, but I digress..

I recommend £10 EW on Catriona Matthew @ 25/1(365,fred/lads) for the ladies' Open.

Is this a thigh thing, Ralph?

That's looks a nice bet, thanks, we have £10 EW @ 25/1 (qtr odds 1,2,3,4,5) with Betfred @ 25/1, Catriona Matthews to win the Ricoh British Open.

ON

RICOH Womens British Open - Outright
Tournament Outright
EW 1/4 1,2,3,4,5 Matthew, Catriona 25/1
Total stake £ 20.00
Estimated return £ 332.50

Full stake £ 20.00
Full estimated return £ 332.50

I was on but an odds on bet only warrants some cereal. I had hoped someone would have proposed the bet as I thought if I suggested £21 at odds of 20/21 that was available that I would look like a super nit.

Lol, love the thinking! We were too busy discussing Corners theory I think.

NEVER be afraid of being seen as a Nit, at least not by Fred. I am Lord Nit, Mere is King Nit. Even Dubai is a nit, but don't tell anyone, it's not widely realised. Be the trend, don't follow it, is his maxim.

Anyone I'm glad you had a bit on.

Whilst discussing corner stats, I find this website one of the best to use;

http://www.simplesoccerstats.com/Console2.html

It has all corner/cards stats for all the domestic(prem,champ,lge1 and lge2) and all major european leagues going back about 5 years.

Relatively basic, but its accurate, free and ease to use.

Daily Report as @ 0750, Wednesday September 12th

We made a profit of £28 yesterday.

Two new bets were placed, one completed, (it won), & the other is a nice little Banzai for this weekend.

The winner was horsey's Corners bet, France over 5.5 corners, & the bet was weighed-in before half-time. It was his 2nd winning Corners bet on the bounce in 3 days.

We somehow missed a hector-hint, too, surprisingly given his record.

Karabiner, who outed himself as a thigh-man yesterday, has given us a Ladies Golf wager. I'm led to believe Karabiner has studied the form at close quarters, as can be seen here. That's him, with the camera.

I too was on the France corners bet, and seeing as it was done and dusted by half time, got a little bit greedy! The corner scores at half time were France 6 Belarus 1, and Paddy Power were offering France to have most corners @ Evens, with a -6 handicap. I invested my profit, plus a little extra on this and the final corners score was France 8 Belarus 2

How ethical is it that bookies are taking bets on things that can't possibly win. The X factor boot camp took place in Liverpool in July and the field was cut to 24 and then the 6 contestants in each of the 4 groups were then reduced to 3 each at the end of August. Yet looking at odds checker this morning you can bet on over 40 contestants.

What's coming up?

Today is the third & final T20 Bish Bash Bosh between England & South Africa, from Edgbaston on this occasion. South Africa are a very tasty 4/5.

It will be our last chance for some time to see the amazing Amla on English soil. Ladbrokes are offering him @ 7/2 for Top South African batsman today.

In Greyhound Racing, it is Champions night at Romford, featuring the Coral  Champion Stakes & a decent support card.

Early prices are here…..

Talking of which, can anyone name this track, which used to host Greyhound Racing twice weekly back in the day? VERY famous venue, & everyone has heard of it. Tighty will even know which architect designed it.

Greed is what does us so often!

Well done on getting on though - I hear a good few Fred followers were also on.

Thanks Mr Fellaini, that is spot on.

Are you looking forward to next Monday's match? (Everton v Newcastle). Should be quite a game.

Is it White City?

If it is I used to go there most Fridays and usually bet with Tony Morris.

I miss the eel bar too. Mmmmm jellied eels.

Fred was so transfixed on Victoria Pendleton cycling away, he didn't even notice someone stealing the light bulb from his hand...
