Lawrie and Hanson as top prices to be top overall points scorers are just plain wrong.

I've invested in them both e/w 1/4.

I'd suggest a thread banzai/value bet at 5 e/w on both of them at 50/1 and 65/1.

Hanson should play every round and is the 2nd/3rd best player on the team imo and Lawrie will play the first morning i think - Underestimate Lawrie at your peril, he's played brilliant this year and putts like boss under pressure.

My gut feeling is to oppose Tiger on match bets.

The Racing Post publish a 20 page supplement on the Ryder Cup on thursday.

Always a great read.

Bugger - you are right - we have Paul Lawrie, Top European, £5 EW @ 25/1 down to Bozo.

My apologies.

I just wrote a Post gently berating Tal Tonji for his lack of accuracy. Glory be for the Delete Button.

Long run record is W13 L14, but he has won 6 of the last 9.  I'd go with current form, though it all depends on the price obv.

I agree Ace. They look like great bets. Would you think they are better win only at slightly bigger prices on jokefair (if you can get matched)? I like the ew part but then I like 75/1+

How do you work out if it is better to back them Top European or Top All-in? Is it a question of just saying they have to be double the price? (I might be being thick there).

In so far as we can guess from both past cups and playing styles, what are possible or probable European pairings please? (eg GiMac and Rory being an obvious one)

Which European players will be fourballs only? (ie not steady enough for foursomes, in theory, but birdie machines for the fourballs)

thank you - developing a piece of research that may or may not come to something

Cue incoming weather reports, American socio-economic history, the price of bread, & the topography of the course relative to overall altitude.

to develop I came up with opening foursomes of

Donald/Rose
Rory/McDowell
Poulter/Westwood
Hanson/Lawrie

Colsaerts and Molinari for fourballs
Kaymer not a lot of form
Garcia for fourballs

along the right lines?

Motherwell are currently 21/10 at Betfred away at Rangers tomorrow night , Motherwell are unbeaten in 7 and sit top of the premier Rangers are 2nd in div 3 also unbeaten but hardly having things there own way getting knocked out the ramsden cup on penalty's by queen of the south. Recommend £20 (subject to elders approval)

Maximum bet for me this one.   The Rangers are a poor outfit.  Motherwell should be far too strong.  The one thing that puts me off though is the possible revenge element in that  The Rangers believe they have been shafted by SPL clubs and might just fight that little bit more, but from what I have watched of their games so far I would bet my whole roll on Motherwell.

Hills are 5/1 about the Day 1 Fourballs finishing 2-2.

Massive price. Recommend £40 if they'll let you have it. True price imo more like 11/4. Possibility they will cry palp but not really much justification if they do so, they're just ool.

I know the 4balls market well (proper tip with info will be posted up later in the week) and this is well ool. Only risk is palp which would be nonsense really given the price has been there for about 3-4 days...

Hope someone got on. They've just gone 5/2. Unbelievable scenes if they took the price down purely off the back of knocking me back on it.

I need to get my head round that.

On paper, only three results possible? 4-0, 3-1, 2-2, yes? And they go 5/1?

Assuming they are not stupid, that seems totally wrong, unless there any orther factors we should include?
