Can I recommend a max £100 on Tanya Branning at 10/1 in the who shot Derek Branning market? She has good form and has been heavily backed with a number of firms by degenerates all over the UK who had nothing to punt on other than Virtual Speedway through Christmas Eve.

On the other hand, we could enjoy the day if punting. Happy Christmas to Tikay, Camel, Bobby, Stu, Tighty, Chompy, Doobs, Hector, Tal, Fraser, Aaron and well everyone that posts on the only must open Fred on blonde. And a Happy 49er Gerwen New Year to all

Shaun

Ha!

Good morning Shaun.

Who is Tanya Branning? Who does he play for?

Thanks for the Fred sentiments.

PS - The Market does not even list a "Tanya Branning"! It names about 8 of the Branning buggers, but not a Tanya.

Season's Greetings to all the regular fred posters to whom I am indebted.

This has been a most enlightening experience for me over the last eight months or so and has made me realise how little I actually knew about what I had previously considered to be one of my specialist subjects whereas in truth I had merely been scratching the surface when it came to sports betting as opposed to approaching it more laterally as the experts demonstrate on here.

Thanks for the education thus far and I wish you all a Happy and prosperous New Year which will hopefully kick-start with the holy grail of the MVG/49ers double.

Several football grounds have or did have part of the ground called a 'Spion Kop'. The original Spion Kop was a hill in South Africa and the scene of a huge battle during the Boar War.When British soldiers returned to the UK I think those grounds with a 'hill' like mound behind the goals were named accordingly.I seem to remember a strong link between a Regiment from Preston and the battle and obviously some links to Liverpool.Where as Liverpool is now associated with 'The Kop' for me The Spion Kop was always the large open end at Hillsborough.I have some great photo's which when I learn how to upload from my IPad to Blonde I will share. One is of Pele playing for Santos with the huge open Kop packed behind him.
Apologies for slight diversion.Happy punting and oh,Merry Christmas.

Happy Christmas to all the thread regs.

All I want for Christmas is for the FOBTs to be banned and for everyone running all the bookmakers on oddschecker to get the sack and never work in the industry again and for their replacements to fall back on traditional ideas of paying odds-compilers to work out prices and then laying them.

Failing that I'd like a new debit card with a fresh ip address.

Thanks to everyone for making TipsforTikay a great read. Thanks to Tikay and Mere for all the hard work it entails and let's hope we can have a great 2013 and we can all continue learning together and beating the books.

Lovely Posts by MM & Neil.

Extraordinary that even someone as old, & experienced in betting, as MM has learned stuff here. There is hope for us all.

To be fair, anyone who has not got better at punting because of Fred has not been trying, & will never improve.

We are all indebted to the various Elders for their help & advice, long may it last.

I echo Neil's thanks to MereGrumpy, too, without whom the thread would not exist, never mind being so pedantically spot-on with the numbers.

I don't think we have hardly had a spot of bad blood here, either, or overly chirping. Perhaps we should have had our very own Fred Advent Calendar. It may have been received a tad less churlishly than the proper one. ;

You too Father G.

Strange how we all think of different Kops.

Do please upload those photos when time permits. Get the boy to show you how. He must have some uses, surely?

I'm with Father G here, I assumed that The Spion Kop at Hillsborough was the only one.
