Two things

Just listened to interview with George Groves. Has apparently spared with both Froch(before last Kessler fight), and now Kessler(before this fight). He didn't want to commit to who he thought would win. He hoped Froch would, as he looked to him for his next big pay day. However, he said that Kessler was comfortably the most skillful. Baring in mind he has a decision over Froch(and I don't mind saying Froch is a cocky mofo), and putting the partisan stuff aside. Kessler at  9/4 seems rather big. Thoughts anyone?

Number 2,
SPOTY
Now Fergie has been declared ineligible for the Award, the same basis that prompted his support(ie, his retirement)surely make a certain squeaky voiced good looking ex footballer, a valid candidate? With Murray, out of French Open, and looking squarely at Wimbledon as being his big chance to shine, at a time when Rafa seems to be back at his best, and very few other viable candidates about. come Christmas when we are all full of good cheer and reminiscing about the good times, I am sure people will fondly remember, not only Beckham the footballer, but Beckham the icon, the man who helped win us The Olympic bid, the friend of Royalty etc.
He has already won it once, granted, but both Damon Hill and Mansell, I think won it twice, so why not. Tiny bit of 30s on betty left, but generally 20s. Anyone else think it has some merit?

Giro d'Italia. With todays stage cancellation & tomorrow not looking great. The points classification looks almost certainly to be won by Cavendish.

I don't have a Bwin account, but they still have Cavendish @ 2/5

No to both for me.

My head says Kessler will win but I'm not sure either will KO the other. Both want it too much and they'll be hanging off each other come the end, but it's got "the distance" written all over it for me. Cue first round knock out.

For Becks to win, I would say he'd need to accomplish something in sport in this 12 month window. Love the man to bits (possibly too much) but think he has more chance of a KBE in January than SPOTY in December

Boom!

Thanks Tonji.

I may have been a little rash here, but it just looks right.

Understand the Beckham argument Tal, but not Kessler one. You think he will win, but 9/4 in a two horse race isnt a bet. I didn't suggest KO as your reply implies, just a win.

Sorry, Adz. Thought the 9/4 was for a KO only. In that case, I like the bet.

This LPGA event is getting modified again it seems.

I'm not sure about how many holes have to be played for the bets to stand.

I would have expected to see 1/10.

Saturdays stage could well be altered due to cold, snow, rain from

to something less at altitude.

Yesterday at the summit.

Evans is on 109 points. Cavendish has 113.

I'd have Evans outside the points on current form for the next stage where ever it is.

Sundays final stage is pan flat bunch sprint finish & Cav an odds on favourite.

How volatile are boxing markets? Is there a good time to lay the home favourite?

Monaco

Rodriguez, Moutinho, Falcao and Victor Valdes

an impressive start to building a european force that

rodriguez and moutinho appear to be done deals. Porto ever the shrewd sellers sold Moutinho for £1 million and Rodriguez for £69 in a joint £70 million deal to afford paying sell on percentages to sporting lisbon

For discussion please

The Temple stakes at Haydock tomorrow

- Sole Power is a 2-1 favourite

but

it prefers quick ground, and rain is forecast until tomorrow

it is drawn 11 of 12, and 4 of the 5 winners since it was switched to Haydock were drawn 1-5

do we have any draw experts on here?

Isn't Sole Power a lay at these cramped odds in 5f handicap in uncertain weather and a bad (pending draw expert comment) draw?

2013 Temple Stakes Odds

2/1 Sole Power
3/1 Reckless Abandon
7/1 Kingsgate Native
8/1 Swiss Spirit
8/1 Spirit Quartz
12/1 Ballista
18/1 Tangerine Trees
18/1 Masamah
20/1 Morawij
25/1 Doc Hay
33/1 Ballesteros

Hopefully that edges Pereira towards the door...
