Also in Greyhound Derby news, all of Barrie Draper's dogs (Ballymac Eske, Farloe Warhawk, Farloe Barracuda, Eden Star, plus others) have all been, cleverly, switched to the same owners so that they can be guarded against each other until the final. This is good news for our Warhawk and Barracuda bets.

I can understand the reasoning, but surely, as a Greyhound Owner, nothing is as important as being the Official Owner of a Derby winner?

Do they revert to correct ownership once they reach the Final, when seeding problems have disappeared?

I think most in the Draper camp were miffed in The Arc where Draper had 3 dogs and all got drawn in same heat (or 3 of 4).

I don't know about reverting back to proper ownership at the final, they might, if they can.

I'd like to offer up another bet for this weekend's UFC 160 card.

The bet is for Donald Cerrone to win on points/by decision @ 15/8 with Paddy Power. A lot of my UFC bets are based on how I feel the fight will play out with some stats to support and this one is no different. I think it'll be a striking battle with Cerrone's technical strikes outscoring KJ Noons' power strikes. Cerrone lands at 47% with Noons at 34%.

Cerrone has 13 career submission wins (of 19) but has shown a recent tendency to favour striking battles which he can win without necessarily having enough finishing power (only two career wins via strikes. Plus, he would find it hard to get Noons to the ground as he has shown solid takedown defence (73%) throughout his 7 fight Strikeforce spell.

Noons has lost 4 of his last 5, all by decision.

This is my NB to the previous NAP and I advise £20 on Cerrone to win by decision at 15/8.

CONFIRMATION.

£5 @ 15/8, Paddy Power, Cerrone to win by decision.

Daily Report

Profit on the month £341.69

Outstanding Bets £1518.50

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc#gid=24

No bets completed yesterday.

Over the weekend we have the following positions maturing, for better or worse...

* Mumbai Indians in the IPL final, Sunday, where they are underdogs to the Chennai Super Kings. However the whole tournament has been severely undermined by the mach fixing revelations, with now even the BCCI (Bookies Control Cricket in India) implicated, and I will be quite pleased not to have to talk about IPL positions, possibly for ever, after this weekend

* Ms Shin Missing in the Bahamas? Updates appreciated please as it appears she has not made the start line in the badly weather effected Pure Silk classic.

* Dos Santos v Hunt, Dos Santos in first round on tonight's MMA card

* Cerrone v KJ NoonsCerrone to win by decision at the MMA

* Mark Cavendish to win the Giro D'Italia points

* Cards in the Champions league final, both a red card and more than 4 cards total required

* Monaco Grand Prix, Rosberg and Raikkonen

Overall £273 invested in that lot. By the way it used to be the case that when you telephone bet, and maybe some shops too that the staff would say something along the lines of

"Thank you sir, that's £273 invested"

Back in the days when I was hammering a Ladbrokes credit account over the phone (the good old days. For Ladbrokes) one saturday afternoon the comment came

"Thank you sir, that's £273 invested"

I could stand it no longer

"I am not investing it, I am punting it. If I was investing you would be a building society, or a stock exchange"

It can't have been a winning Saturday

After a short pause the young lady said

"Sir, we are taught to tell people that they are investing on their bets. Our research tells us that it makes people feel better"

So there you go, we feel better when investing on our tips, not punting on them. Apparently.

Re. the whereabouts of Ms.Shin who appears to have vanished into thin air, I am none the wiser.

She didn't tee off in the Pure-Silk-Pyjamas LPGA Classic by all accounts yet honest Joke Orals do not appear to have refunded my bet.

Good Report Tighty, it's useful to summarise what we have coming up, thank you.

I will let you know as to Miss Shin, who really has lived up to her nick.

I cannot find a word anywhere about her absence.

Eventualy, the story will emerge, & then I guess I'll have an awkward convo with the Bookie we punted invested with.

Leave the bet "Open" for now please, & I'll keep you informed. She seems to be a non-runner, but I don't know if traditional ante-post rules apply here. We might have done our money on a non-runner by the looks of it.

The IPL website has scrapped its Fair Play Award

In each game the umpires would aware teams points for fair play, playing in the spirit of the game etcetc

The TV commentators would then promote the award on each broadcast, and update who was leading

Ahead of the final, the Rajastan Royals and Chennai, with an aggregate nine players, coaches and administrators arrested, were top of the fair play award!

Going to make for a great piece of investigative journalism/Panorama etc when all the dust settles on this episode

Can't bring myself to anti rail froch, but Kessler @ 3.3 on bf is massive no? Bazza?

Adz posted yesterday when he was 9/4.

I've re-watched some fights to get my Froch hat off and my impartial amateur pundit hat on. I can't split these two. Froch is a difficult guy to box because his stance is like no one else's. But that's less effective the second time you fight him. Both look in superb shape. Both need to win and I don't see the loser carrying on (we know that of Kessler, but I don't see how Froch comes back if he loses; he won't get to fight Ward again and is he going to fight Groves?)

Kessler will likely keep better distance from Froch's jab. He's the faster fighter by a long way and I'm a fan of his style.

They will be toe to toe for a good portion of the fight and any world class fighter can floor the other guy in those circumstances.

9/4 really seems big to me.

However...

...the market has had plenty of time to find a sensible price and this isn't an unknown fighter.

I'll back him, though.

Stand by your beds, The Milkman is itt.

Saturday Special incoming, extra pint of Gold Top anyone?

Whatever happened to that extra creamy "Gold Top" we used to get in glass bottles? Extra creamy, but cost an extra penny per pint.
