True.....

Anyway, I took £20 WIN @ 5/1 in error first attempt, which I'll stand off-thread. If anyone wants the bet, I'm happy to pass it on. You can have it at the current price, 9/2, just say the word.  Wink

England lose two in two (Trott and Captain Cook).

67-3 looks like NZ's session all of a sudden

Coral refund on Shin, still waiting on Betfred.

Good news, thanks.

On my Coral Account, it is still shown with a blue dot, which means "OPEN".

Fingers crossed.

How long does this qualifying thing last?

What is Q1?

We just have to be fastest in Q1, yes?

This is going to be a close qualifying finish. Rain is making it very interesting. Had a tickle on Mark Webber at 20/1 on the basis he likes the circuit and it's an anything can happen kinda day.

No sir.

7 mins left of Q1.

Top 15 go through to Q2.

Then top 10 decide the big places in Q3.

Mine was from a couple of shops in north Herts, they called them both in and insta refunded. Betfred was online and nothing from them yet. It's a shame, I think it was one of my better golf bets this year.

Barring major incident, Vettel should negotiate Q1 and Q2. Then the teams have to choose their race tyres and basic race strategies as the tyres you start Q3 with are the ones you start with on the grid tomorrow.

Q1 and Q2 went well, now for the biggie.

Enjoyed watching this, good fun.

Not a bad sweat for Dubai's bet, either.

Wow, that was terrifically enjoyable.

We got third, so washed our face, and no damage done.

How did qualifying bode for our race bets?

Fred is on Rosberg, isn't he?

If so, that was a good thing for Fred! Exactly to plan.

Yes, Rosberg and Raikkonen.

For discussion please

The Temple stakes at Haydock tomorrow

- Sole Power is a 2-1 favourite

but

it prefers quick ground, and rain is forecast until tomorrow

it is drawn 11 of 12, and 4 of the 5 winners since it was switched to Haydock were drawn 1-5

do we have any draw experts on here?

Isn't Sole Power a lay at these cramped odds in 5f handicap in uncertain weather and a bad (pending draw expert comment) draw?

2013 Temple Stakes Odds

2/1 Sole Power
3/1 Reckless Abandon
7/1 Kingsgate Native
8/1 Swiss Spirit
8/1 Spirit Quartz
12/1 Ballista
18/1 Tangerine Trees
18/1 Masamah
20/1 Morawij
25/1 Doc Hay
33/1 Ballesteros
40/1 Free Zone

It isn't a handicap, it is a group race.  The opposition looks mediocre, barring Reckless Abandon.  I'd rather back Reckless Abandon at 3/1 than Sole Power at 2.  I don't think you are going to get enough rain to make the ground soft, the BBC forecast is fairly clear up there.  As an aside we seem to have had a lot if rain, but it has missed Epsom too.

I'd be a layer rather than a backer at those odds, but definitely need the opinion of a draw expert.

Shows what I know.

Sole Power now 13/8 best priced.  Couldn't resist taking some 11/2 Reckless Abandon with BetVictor in the knowledge that it could run a stinker.
