Today sees the first legs of the semi finals of the Blue Square (Conference) South play offs - Basingstoke v Dartford and Sutton Utd v Welling.
Dartford are favourites to be promoted, and probably rightly so as they finished 2nd and have a good squad. However, they have a few injuries, and how often has a team finished 2nd and then lost out in the play offs to the form team?
The form team are Basingstoke, who had a storming finish to the season, losing only once (to the champions) in their last 11 games, and coming from nowhere to grab the last play off spot. Because they finished 5th, they are considered the outsiders, but at 11/2 and with their form there is value there. All three other teams had indifferent ends to the season.
Don't think this should be a max bet but definitely worth a dabble.
Very interested in this, but I assume you mean 11/2 to be PROMOTED, yes?
If so, @ 11/2, it would seem rude not to indulge in some minor dabbleage.
Apologies for not being clearer, yes they are 11/2 to be promoted.

I saw the best goal I have ever seen at Basingstoke Town.
The main stand overhangs the A road behind
Carry on.
Only Tighty would note details of the stand overhanging the road, & the road being an "A" road.
You should also mention that Luton's Kenliworth Road, where it abuts the A505 Hatters Way, which is currently being widened, & so removing, from what I can see, part of Luton FC's impressive stadium?
Disappointed in you Richard, that you have not reported this matter of great import.

Thank you - we are on.
Mighty Basingstoke - where the stand overhangs an A road - to be promoted, £20 @ 11/2, Bet 365. Fun bet, with a bit of time to sweat. Excellent.

fairly big racing fancy here tikay
3.45 really good race this but there is no way ELECTROLYSER should be 14-1 (slightly bigger on exchanges) i suggest £30 win at vc bet at 14-1
first the others
red cadeuax class act but possibly may be a prep for something else, feared though
barbican class poly runner but worried how much the meydan run (race was run twice ground was horrid) took out of the horse
colour vision solid form but i am not in love with the stable switch
solar sky progressive but cant see why it is shorter than the bet
thimaar progressive and won well last time but any of these would have won that, this is much tougher
the case for the bet is needs a small field, unexposed as a front-runner, should get an easy lead, fit, in form. 1lb max to find with most of the field apart from red cadeaux who may need the run.

I was thinking that Wrexham and Mansfield would play in the final, and that 5/2 Mansfield (BetVictor) was appealing to win the play offs
John, Junior, Reggie etc would have a view on that bet

Having advised Pune to win in the IPL I think a quick match report is in order.
Decca batted first and after 10 overs were 49-2 and could hardly hit the ball off the square, the match was seemingly won. Time to back the truck up as it were. Even if they batted well a total of about 140/150 was the best they could realistically reach, an easy target on this pitch. So a change of tactics was not called for, but that is what we got. 2 new bowlers appeared for our gallant Pune warriors- Paveev Lobaballabit, and Sergio Fulltossatini. Over the last 10 overs Decca managed to score almost 140 runs and reached 186.
In reply Pune lost a wicket on the first ball to a shot that was the epitome of catching practice for mid-off and the damage was done. We did get to the final over with 25 needed but at no point were we ever in with a realistic chance of winning.
I can not recall ever seeing such inept bowling from a side, and I have watched a lot of theses IPL matches. That and the manner of the first Pune dismissal makes me very suspicious of the integrity of this particular match.
One of the best all-round batsmen in the world in Kumar Sangakarra and Cameron White, the Australian 20/20 captain, play slowly for a while and then start smashing the ball all over the park, and you automatically assume that the bowler's were letting them do it so it's a fixed match? White scored 3 6's and a 4 in one over bowled by Indian Cricketing legend Saurav Ganguly... think he was thowing the match then? I understand anger when losing money, but you shouldn't lead people to believe that the IPL is fixed. It's not.

Another NBA bet goes south, sigh. Ridic final quarter from Boston, they were 11 down late in the third and still five down starting the final quarter, but with the weight of our bet on their shoulders the Hawks nosedived. I said we needed Josh Smith to have a big game....how about getting carried off with a knee injury in the fourth quarter....whoever we bet on in NBA are bokked, an albatross round the neck of the Hawks. Boston won 87-80
Should I get my max bet on Miami for the championship now?
My thoughts exactly. The lay on Miami has started badly because Derrick Rose, the MVP last season and star player for second faves Chicago Bulls, knacked his knee in game one of their first round game and is out for months. They instantly went from 3/1-ish to 15/1-ish, and obv the other good teams came in a bit. Miami are 2-0 up against the Knicks in the first round game, they're always best of seven. The team with the best record (Miami in this case) plays the first two at home, then two in New York before one/one/one at each if needed. So we're hoping the Knicks can at least exert Miami in this round and take one or two games at home. Not helped by New York's second best player, Amare Stoudamire, punching the glass surrounding a fire extinguisher on the way to the locker room after the last defeat and cutting his hand so badly that he's out for at least one game, maybe a long time. His hand was 'haniging off' according to one report I read. Sigh

Ok..we goota get this NBA on the road...
clippers are at memphis tonight in game 2..the memphis grizzlies let a big lead go in the first game to lose by a point so both teams will be fired up for this one...
Memphis are still big favourites but as i stated before they are known to grind out results and are very difficult to beat..their offense is solid not explosive and they usually play good D.
Clippers with CP3 and the dunk machine that is Blake Griffin will never be far away
out of their last 19 wins Memphis they have won by 8 points or less on 14 occassions .... should be a close one and i like
LA clippers + 8.5 for a nitty 1.61 on Bet365..( prob get a better price elsewhere )
