Another NBA bet goes south, sigh. Ridic final quarter from Boston, they were 11 down late in the third and still five down starting the final quarter, but with the weight of our bet on their shoulders the Hawks nosedived. I said we needed Josh Smith to have a big game....how about getting carried off with a knee injury in the fourth quarter....whoever we bet on in NBA are bokked, an albatross round the neck of the Hawks. Boston won 87-80

Should I get my max bet on Miami for the championship now? Smiley

Yup, I awoke @ 5am this morning to a text from Bwin, which said, effectively, "Good Morning Mr Kendall, your bet has bombed".

No worries Mr Cake, we'll get this basketball right eventually, then go on a winning streak.

How is our Miami NBA "lay" going? Or has it not started yet?

I wouldn't go overboard in assuming it's going to be soft ground. The Rowley Mile drains amazingly quick and only showers are forecast between now and Saturday. It's soft now but good ground would be no surprise by the weekend.

Agree that, historically, anyway, the Rowley Mile drains wonderfully quickly, but........very heavy rain is forecast for tonight, tomorrow, & Friday.

 What have I got wrong?

I think you've backed ante-post, so if its a non-runner no money back.

I think you are right.

If it looks too good to be true, it usually is.

In fairness, if it were generally 10/1 last night, & I got 13.5/1 ante-post, that is probably just about right. Or wrong.

I am not that far from Newmarket and my back garden isn't  raceable. Is anybody in newmarket? Have you backed the frenchies yet?  (insert picture of fella in hooped shirt, beret and string of onions round neck, he'll fall for that)

At last, we discover the ultimate way of measuring the going. "My back garden is not raceable". Sounds fair enough to me, we can lump on now.

The 2 frenchies set off yesterday, disguised as Karabiner & Red.

Daily Summary, Wednesday May 2nd

Good start to May.

Three bets have been completed so far, all three lost.

We got the NBA wrong again, Jelavic (first goalscorer) failed to repeat his Old Trafford heroics, & our "good thing" in the IPL (Pune) bish bash bosh bombed.

This is, technically, lers than ideal.

Worse news was that 77Dave (Jim McTip) sort of hinted that Fulham were a great price, Tighty concurred as only he can con, & I pointed out that the 7/2 on offer could be bettered by a whole point at Betfred.  So, Fulham were 9/2, against a Liverpool outfit who rested 9 players & clearly had one eye on the Cup Final.

Did we back it on the thread?

Nope.

Hopefully, a few got on though.

We have a "centuries" bet in the Carter v Jones snooker quarter-final, I have no idea how the centuries are going, but Carter currently leads 5-3.

If I could find something optimistic to report, I would.

Liking your style, tentwo, but you have omitted the important detail.

Is your back garden raceable? We plan to oust the Racing Post with our Back Garden Going Reports, but we need everyone to assist.

Today?

Nothing booked yet, though the Carter match continues presumably.

Newcastle visit Chelsea tonight, when a home win would irrepairably puncture the hopes of a Newcastle top 4 finish, & Spurs are at Bolton (televised).

A few days ago, someone reminded us of the "Muamba factor", reporting, correctly, that the young man who so nearly died will be present at tonight's match. Can anyone recall who Posted that over the weekend? We'd best have a dabble, I think.

Wouldn't leave the Bolton bet too long, I envisage the 4.4 won't last.

The match I want to get with Bolton is when Muamba either tuns up at the stadium or at training the day before a game.

"Win this one for me" he'll say.

Can't imagine a bigger motivational tool.

Wonder when Coyle will use his trump card.

Good point, will be interesting.

'Fabrice Muamba could attend Bolton v Tottenham match'

Bolton win is currently about 3/1....

Found it.

To whom shall we attribute this bet? Camel, Horneris, or Womble? Who first came up with the suggestion?
