OK, I can definitely kill the detail.

I did ask if we should make the other Strictly thread the non spoiler thread a week ago, after someone posted a spoiler there.  If nobody discusses it until I post the result then I am not sure what else I could do.

I then posted 4 hours before the spoiler that I was going to post one. Last week I knew the result, and to discuss the next bets, it is better to have the known information included?

I don't avoid Match of the Day because I know the result, and have long given up on trying to avoid it these days.

I'll go with the majority, and I accept it is difficult for Tighty to miss it as he has to read the thread.

no problem. Happy for the bet result to be posted, but lets compromise on the rest of the detail staying off please

Some of us go a long way to prolong the notion that we have no life by watching stuff "as is"! Impossible on MOTD or the Grand Prix on BBC say...but was always possible with SCD

I just don't understand why knowing the result would spoil your enjoyment of a television programme.

If I had a bet I'd want to know the result asap.

Instant gratification ftw.

Of course it spoils it. Quite stunned the full result was posted in here. Can't really avoid it

Anyway, its done now, but perhaps it can not be posted until the results show next week?

Completely and utterly beyond me that finding out the result of an opinion poll of 200,000 people would spoil an entertainment show for anyone.

I guess it's lucky I am not a shrink, because I often find people's actions and opinions inexplicable,

I was baffled and bemused by people's reactions to finding out the end of Breaking Bad before they saw it.

This doubly so.

Each to their own I suppose.

Right, I have removed the result and left the only info about this week's result that thread needs.

Not as bizzare as the poster who didn't want WSOP spoilers before he saw the highlights on ESPN about 4 MONTHS after the game was played though.

People are baffling,

Surely you get why spoilers are bad?  Must have been a big sports event at some point that you couldn't watch live and so avoided knowledge until seeing it?

Obv I don't give a monkeys about a TV dancing thing but there are events or even shows/movies that I'd be grumpy about losing my entertainment/sweat factor in.

Daily Report

Profit on the Month £387.25

Outstanding Bets £2718.56

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc&usp=drive_web#gid=32

A profit of £362 yesterday

In the winners column

- George Bailey in the ODI Series in India + £412

- Tidal Bay at Wetherby +£69

- Za Approval e/w at the Breeders Cup +£56

Losers

- Five other selections at the Breeders Cup today for -£85

- Shrewsbury beat Sheffield United - £15

- Dave Myers is still in SCD - £20

- Long run at Wetherby - £25

- England rugby tries and no draw - £30

Lots and lots of positions to report on. These are in a random order as I jotted them down through the day

- Shiv Kapur is well placed to win the Challenge Golf at 20-1 for us. Speith less so in the WGC.

- Arsenal beat Liverpool to go 5 points clear at the top of the Premier League. The top three bet is looking very handy indeed

- Hull beat 9 man Sunderland and will be very well placed currently on the Handicap bet we have

- Bale did not score for RM in their 3-2 win tonight

- Palace lost, and most of us will have more points on our licences than Palace have in November. Three

- Southampton drew, and still are not going down

- Rodriguez scored for Southampton

- Navas assisted for Man C, his first of the season but is way behind Ozil who has 5 I believe after today. Aguero had 3 assists today alone

- Suarez did not score, but I think we got off lightly as none of the main rivals scored more than 1, despite City scoring 7!

- Vokes scored for Burnley

- No goals for Ings, Nugent, Assombolonga, Bamford, Wells

- Tranmere were winning away at Preston, which would have been a nasty surprise in the relegation bet, but settled for a point

- Watford lost to the Mighty Leicester, which was a pleasant surprise for some of us at least.

- Reading got thumped 5-1 at Hillsborough. Not the best result for the South Yorkshire club bet either

- Kidderminster lost at Barnet, but leaders Cambridge lost too so no real damage done

- Natalie scored 10,10,9,9 in SCD and is clear favourite again

- Brett Morris scored one of Australia's six tries tonight in the RLWC, has 2 in 2 games and is in the hunt assuming Australia paly six games in reaching the final

Sunday sees play in the following long term positions

Cardiff Handicap

Paulinho "wil he cross the half way line today?" goals

Jordi Amat discipliary bet, if he plays

The usual weekly progress on the NFL bets

Not at all.

I found out the twist in the plot of The Crying Game before I saw it,

If anything it enhanced my pleasure of watching an excellent film. As I saw it knowing Dil was deceiving Fergus as he seduced him, and it made the whole plot altogether darker.

To me anyway, gambling isn't about sweats and excitement, it's about winning money.

If finding out a result early might give me a small edge somehow, then of course I want to know.

My friend let me have his copy of Shawshank Redemption which seems to be a very long film. As he handed it over he said 'great film this, keep an eye out for the poster on the wall tho'

So I started watching it and suddenly knew what the ending was going to be.

The Prick!

As someone who doesn't gamble or watch strictly. Wouldn't it make more sense not to read the thread on a Saturday, rather than trying to stop gamblers talking about how much has been won or lost?
