Morning all.

Confirmation of the Peterborough bets last night. How the Overs never got home was a bit of a mystery, I was counting the money @ half time. Bit of run-bad there.

I hope the spectator who fell ill is OK though.

Thanks for the photo gallery Mr Rubbish.

I saw the Beckham interview yesterday.

I'm a great admirer of what he has achieved - the boy did real good.  I just wish - you know - that he would, you know, invest a few hundred quid in, you know, some lessons on, you know, public speaking. You know?

Fair play to him for achieving so much though, & being someone young footballers can & should look up to. He is an absolute credit to football.

Good to hear, thank you.

I don't recall a game being stopped in such circumstances before, though I'm sure it has happened plenty of times.

Bit of a thorny problem for the Referee & Officials, but I think they were correct in halting the game. What price a desperate football fan, with his team losing, fakes illness next though?

Thought I'd get the ball rolling in the Winter Olympics. One of the first events on the schedule is the snowboard slopestyle competition, with qualifiers tomorrow morning, and the final on Saturday. For those who don't know, the idea is to grind a few rails at the top of the run, before hucking oneself over three enormous jumps. The winner is the rider with the most technical tricks delivered with the most style (or steez). I won't bore you with talk of switch backside and so on. Suffice to say that the trick du jour is the triple cork, and that the winner will have to perform at least one ... if not two.

With Shaun White pulling out of slopestyle to concentrate on winning the halfpipe, and Torstein Horgmo having broken his collarbone in practice, this has become essentially a two-horse race between Maxence Parrot and Mark McMorris ... two Canadians who took gold and silver at the recent X-Games in Aspen.

All of the bookies have these two installed as the favourites, but some are more generous than others. It would seem that McMorris is top of the pile by the slightest of margins. This is interesting, as he is still carrying an injury from the X-Games where he fell on a rail and broke his rib. In his own words:

“Battling through the pain yesterday was kind of frustrating and then I came up here today and it was just better — way better. I was able to jump and start doing tricks again. My confidence level is back up and I feel like I’m in a good place for breaking my rib 10 days ago. Two days out before a non-elimination round, I couldn’t be in a happier place. It’s still broken, it’s going to be painful and I know I’m going to have to ride through pain. But just to get a shot at trying to do what I want to do is the important part.”

Sounds very non-committal/suspect to me. Add to this the fact that Parrot won the gold by doing the first back-to-back triple corks in competition, and I think that most of the bookies have this one the wrong way around. As Maxence so succinctly/confidently put it:

“It’s a good feeling. I know I’ve got a good run that could put me on the top. I’d just like to see if someone can beat that run.”

Recommend £20 at PP @ 4/1 Maxence Parrot to win snowboard slopestyle.

Thanks Mr WetSuit.

Blimey, triple corks, hucking & backside 9's, this is a whole new language. Even the Sport - Snowboard Slopestyle - what does than even mean?

Unfortunately, after hunting high & low, I can't find the Market for Men's Snowboard Slopestyle. I can only find the female version, which is not much use.......

Can someone Post a Link to the Market, please?

I said that to Marky last night. What chances Chompy faking it to get a void tie?!

Daily Report

Loss on Month £248.69

Outstanding Bets £3187.37

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc&usp=drive_web#gid=19

Another loss yesterday, of £85. Fognini, the top seed in Chile, lost in the first round and the three Peterborough bets losts. Needing one goal in the second half, with one team down to ten men and, yep, you've guessed it

The 2-2 presumably makes Peterborough, our Johnstone Paint Trophy bet, underdogs to reach the final now having to travel to the land of Wiltshire roundabouts for the second leg without a lead

I note Assombolonga went off in the 41st minute too. All eyes on the injury report there too.

Bugger! But thanks.

Anyway, Fred missed it, but hopefully many of the regulars are on snowboard slopestyle.

Morning Mr T.

Even in the storm battered Plymouth area I am still able to ascertain that Foggy Dewhurst did not lose in the first round in Chile, he had a bye, and is playing this evening about 10pm our time.

Morning h.

Ooh, a rare Tighty error. That counts as a misclick.

Hope you are safe & sound down there. When the Dawlish sea wall gets washed away, that is some storm.

That walk along the sea wall from Dawlish to Dawlish Warren was one of my best childhood memories, waving to my Dad as he came past, driving the 13.45 Down Express to Penzance, & he'd blow his whistle just for me. The other lads thought I was a right hero.

His Dad was the driver, wow.

Your Dad being the driver Mr T is like the 1930's equivalent of Will's mum. How cool for you that was. Did you know that bit of railway was built to the design of Isambard K Brunel ? Of course you did but what about anyone else.

Maybe his Tightyness would like to tip Pujara to top score for India in the current test in New Zealand, it has all the hallmarks of his type of preferred situation.

Britt is OK and will be fit for Saturday's hammering at Brisbane Road. Eye closed up after getting a boot in it, but he's a tough lad.

Fan also fine by all accounts.

But he has been beaten by nobody??  No idea what is going on, but when I googled him he is listed in the second round vs A. Bedene.
