Can't believe I am thinking of backing England after the winter, but Spreadex have shunted them to 12-1 from 8-1 to win the T20 world cup next month after KP's exclusion.

Surely that is an over-reaction.  As Tighty pointed out in his analysis of the T20 series against Australia, on paper the team doesn't look so bad?  Morgan is on form and Luke Wright has been in great form in the Big Bash?.

Don't think they will win, but thinking 12-1 is approaching value.

Its a nice price but

Its in Bangladesh

We don't have quality spin (match winning spin eg saeed ajmal) and we can't play spin

The squad has just been announced

Broad, Morgan, M Ali, Bopara, Bresnan, Buttler, Dernbach, Hales, Jordan, Lumb, Parry, Root, Stokes, Tredwell, Wright.

I don't see us getting anywhere close to winning a T20 on the sub-continent

Thanks for the photo gallery Mr Rubbish.

I saw the Beckham interview yesterday.

I'm a great admirer of what he has achieved - the boy did real good.  I just wish - you know - that he would, you know, invest a few hundred quid in, you know, some lessons on, you know, public speaking. You know?

Fair play to him for achieving so much though, & being someone young footballers can & should look up to. He is an absolute credit to football.

Ask Ian when you see him about Becks and his professionalism/kind personality. He's a big fan and has one particularly warming anecdote.

Don't doubt it, I'm a huge fan of his ethic. I just think someone close to him needs to word him about public speaking. He could be 100% better inside an hour, & it counts for so much.

The man is a tremendous force for good.

After first training runs.

Womens Downhill. Anna Fenninger @ 10/1 with PatrickOwer is worth a tiddle.

Julia Mancuso should be around 15/1 ftw imo, StanleyAmes are 80/1 for anyone who can & wants the sweat.

Blimey - 4/1 now!

Still 9/1 with slybet for those that can.  They limited me to £5.56!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/mens-singles/results

Tuesday 4th February 2014
Movistar Chile Open - Round 1

1 Fognini lost 0-6 6-3 1-6 in the first round

Different Fognini?

easy mistake to make if the BBC is getting it wrong....

But he has been beaten by nobody??  No idea what is going on, but when I googled him he is listed in the second round vs A. Bedene.

A complete mystery!

Mystery solved. Some noob at the BBC seems to have cut and pasted the result from the match listed below ... between Volandri and Carreno-Busta ... instead of just writing "bye". Fognini is still in it, and is playing Bedene tonight.

In related good news, the 2nd (Robredo) and 4th (Granollers) seeds have both been knocked out, if BBC results are to be believed. This means that the highest seed left on the other side of the draw is the 7th (Garcia-Lopez). Let's hope Foggy Dewhurst can make it through to the final.

For punters only, and not thread

William Hill 20/1 Michael Vaughan next England cricket coach

bit of a stale price in a market that has been moving today

Bumble is muttering/hinting that he is a runner for this

If you don't fancy England for the T20 WC, why not New Zealand at the same 12/1 outright or 10/1 if you want to go each way? Bat a long way down and consistently do well in short format comps.

Well, it's been a pleasure getting to know you on the forum, horsey. I'm so sorry to hear you've decided to leave us, particularly this way, with a permanent ban.

Then again, as Gok Wan would say (in between pushing yoghurts to middle aged women), it's all about the confidence.  Fair play to him. I suppose.

WH down to 10/1 now, Stanley Jim best at 14/1.

Yea, I would much rather be playing New Zealand @ 12's than England. Have some of the best t20 batsman going, and really decent pace attack only worry is they spin options apart from nathan mccullum not a lot.

I like the Windies @ 8's Narine/Badree give v good spin options and have some of the worlds best t20 players.

I will be backing both.
