This made me smile.  This is obvuiously a great offer...

Exclusive World Cup offer on ALL* markets, open to ALL customers
1
Place a pre-match Sportsbook any market single bet on Uruguay v England. First bets only qualify.
2
Get a full refund as a free bet if England lose that match, up to a maximum of £25.

I didn't capitalise the ALL, they did.  Of couse the exepmtions are fine, but I* wonder what the ASA would make of them writing all like that and then putting exemptions in.

FWIW the * is  * Bets on the following selections do not qualify; Double Chance - England or Draw, Yes / No - England opponent No, Draw No Bet – England.

I will leave it to someone else to tell us how best to use it.  Am knacked.  Edit am sure just punting Enland to win in the win/lose/draw is fine.

Please lay back some more Hughesy. Another £80 @ 3 ta.

This was matched

So the overall situation is

Hughes £200 at 7/2 backed

then

£51.97 laid back at 2.76, liability £92
£80 laid back at 3.0, liability £160

Listen Junior £25 at 10-1

If anyone missed the hughes gamble and fancies an interest i had got £555 up at 15/8 on bf.  Top price anywhere in the world!!!

Any warmth for Zarwaan e/w in 5.00 Ascot ? I ask since PP go 6 places and this is the only one they are joint best priced and close to betfair on - I assume they hate it's chances? . It was tipped on the website I mentioned earlier. (If there's any interest I can get on for Fred and settle up after)

They aren't best price.  I just had a look at it 10 minutes ago, and am sure it is unexposed enough and has a good draw.  The race is full of unexposed types though.  Dunno.  Swings and roundabouts 11/1 with 6 places or 12/1 with 5.

Hughesy is pretty light today and tomorrow, hence the dump-off @ 2-1.

It's as well he has the two seconds already in a tie-break, as he'll do well to ride more than one winner over the next two days.

Listen Jnr has a couple of slight odds-on shots today, and a couple of likely favourites tomorrow, hence the cover. If Cannock Chase and Leading Light both win, he'll go favourite, and is still a channer if just one of the pair win.

OK oddschecker was showing 12's and I backed at that price earlier

Tights lay of the tournamen, Spain, are out

I'll try again.

Tighty's lay of the tournament, Spain, are out.

Don't tell me that you had Pete lumping on @ 1/8.

Notwithstanding it was a decent shout by his tightness.

He's been very busy today. The 3.45 at Ascot was very very good each way on 5 of the 8 runners.

PP were analysing handwriting on the betting slips but they did accept his bets in the end.

took some very big each way bets in the shops on that race, totally different to their online operation.

I would be interested to see the final Betfair odds on the 3.45.  I was trying to prepare dinner and had my 2 year old to entertain about then.  When I looked at Mukhadram at 11/2, and said I am not sure if it was value.  I think the Betfair odds were about 8/1 on the win and I didn't see the place.  In that case you'd be taking a big hit on the win odds that may not have been made up by the place odds.  If I was to make a guess now I'd say backing each way at 11/2 was more likely to be bad value than not  vs Betfair.  That was very different to when I looked at the 13/2 overnight.

I think it would be useful to get those Betfair numbers just so I can check if we get value in situations like this for next time.  Can anybody access these, Arbboy? Doubleup?

Edit.  I meant to add that even if it was marginally good, it may be bad to take a bet like this because it could be perceived as dirty, so we may get a black mark for a bet that was barely profitable.  The balance was probably better at 13/2.

We mainly took 7.5 on Mukhadram but did take some later at 7.0. Most was laid at 8.0 and 1.8 the place.
We took Magician at 7.5 and laid at 8.2 and 1.78 the place.
Fugue at 10 and laid at 12.0 and 2.32 the place.
Dank at 15 and laid at 18.0 and 2.68 the place.
Treve was pretty marginal but you could get massive bets on each way. Strange that the bookies would take bigger bets each way then win on Treve when there was value in the place too.

She has a rather magnificent backhand amongst her attributes.
