I just had a look at those handicaps, and Palace get the 2nd highest start with Hills. That suggests they aren't expected to do as well as last season, but they have Tony Pulis for the whole season this year.   I suppose relegation is still a distinct possibility, but if they are 10 points above that, they will be knocking on the top 4 all season.

I think Liverpool look good too.  Their start is a lot better on Hills.  It is a bit lolsamplesize but I am fairly sure that Liverpool did just as well without Saurez as they did with him.  A 14 point pull on Chelsea and 6 vs Arsenal and Man U seems good to me.

Both are Hills, which means you get the 16/1.

They would be my two from the Premiership, and I have backed them both each way.

I could not find the Premier League market, have you got a link, please?

I am on mobile so can't, but BMU was football specials, then premiership specials.

Hills was football, competitions, premier league, outrights

I couldn't find any spread prices, so have just gone on what looks good to me.

Hills have taken their prices down

Not on my mobile.  Thought that was a bit of an overreaction to my 25 each way on both.

Confirmed both Markets are still available on Wm Hill MOBILE, & the prices/handicaps remain currently unchanged.

Do we want to get on both, & if so, how much is suggested?

It is a long way to go and edges are likely small, and you don't want a big forward book, so I wouldn't go crazy.

If we get no objections, 10 or 20 each way on both seems fine to me.

OK, ta.

We have gone for £15 EW on each of them.

You are right, we want to keep some control of the forward book or it can get out of hand, it's a lot of cash tied up, & we need to leave some breathing room for other 2014/15 Season Football stuff.

So we have, with WH....

£15 EW (qtr odds, 4 places) Liverpool, +14, @ 16/1, WH

£15 EW (qtr odds, 4 places) Crystal Palace, + 46, @ 16/1, WH.

Shockingly England are favourites (7/4 best) to win the next test and India are best priced (9/4 fred, sporting, betway) and the draw is 7/4 as well.  These prices make no sense at all, England team out of form, no real changes to the squad other than Buttler in for prior, weather set fair everyday apart from Sunday where showers are forecast.  Chance both sides rest a seamer, but England's back up (Woakes) is unproven in tests.

Who knows what the wicket will look like, but I feel this doesn't matter too much.  Reason being is I can't see a grounds man making anther Chennai bridge, Lords was the exact pitch England asked for, but we failed to bat/bowl properly and rightly lost.  Shouldn't be too spin friendly as only 1 (for lack of a better word) real spinner in the squad (Ali).  So I expect a similar wicket to Lords, which showed England's frailty's throughout the squad.

recommend £40 India to win the next test with baldfred.

(as a side, the odds for the series winner are as follows: England 9/2, Draw 7/2, India 7/10)

I knew the Commonwealth Games was starting soon, but didn't realise it was tonight.  Thought I'd look at the betting for the athletics and 3 bookmakers have priced up the 100 metres and that is it.  I think the bank might get through this without too much damage.

Speaking of which, I have a daft Commonwealth Games story to relate, but it'd not interest many of the Freddies, so I've spared you all, & posted it on my Diary.

I did what I could earlier today, then gave the old hossie pass to Tighty, as usual.

^ Like this horsey.

The top three in the market, Assombalonga, surly Baldock and Garner, are all possibles to move on in January, if not before. After that it's 16-1 bar and there are plenty towards the top end of the list I couldn't have on my mind at all. For example, neither Nicky Ajose nor Erhun Oztumer should be above Conor Washington among the Poshies. Conor and Britt is our strike-force for the season and there might not be much between them this time.

Think we should start building a League One portfolio.

£5 EW AJ Leitch-Smith, 200-1 Freesiksfive (down to horsey)
£5 EW Jonson Clarke-Harris, 100-1 BMU (down to me)
£10 EW Conor Washington, 40-1 Billies (down to me)

OK horsey & Mr Choppy, thanks.

In case the prices go before Tighty arises from his fitful slumbers, I have placed these (or not...) as follows.

AJ Leitch-Smith, Bet365. Restricted to a comical £0.15 (15p) Each Way, but it still comes to over £30, so we took it. If anyone has any to spare, up to £5 Ew, I'd happily take it. Bet is down to horsey.

Jonson Clarke-Harris. BMU seem to have removed him from the market. Only Scuy & 365 now quote him, 365 go 80/1, & Restricted us to £0.38 (38p) EW, but as it is 80/1, we took it. Again, if someone has a bit spare, we'd take it. Bet is down to Choppy.

The Conor bet is NOT placed, as Willies site is down for scheduled maintenance as at 7am. (EDIT - Site back up, but that Market is not currently available)

For those interested, the current Markets are here.....
