Might be an overreaction to the friendlies last night but 11/2 manure for EPL is way under on bf.  Man City drifted like a barge this morning to nearly 11/4 on bf.

I'm not advocating backing Forest@1-2.

However, the state of Blackpool right now suggests that come that fixture that price could well be value.

Def an exceptional circumstance.

Also rare i'll disagree with arb's thoughts on betting but think saying you'll lay anyone in that league blind@1/2 is way too vague/cliched.

Backing 1/2 shots on the first day of the championship is probably the quickest way to the poor house.  Forest are not even in the top 6 in the betting for the league, have a new manager, key new players to be bedded in during pre season etc etc.  If Forest are a bet at 1/2 then fulham/cardiff/Derby would also be a bet at 2/5 if playing bpool first game of the season.  GL making that pay in the championship.

Er, Tighty ... I believe Baltimore lost 3-2 and the Yankees won 2-1 after a rain-delayed 5 innings were played. I don't know if this was a genuine mix-up on your part, or if you were just testing to see if anyone was still reading your baseball updates  Wink I am for one.

I'd agree with your overall point on Forest.

Just think that if Blackpool are in a similar state by the opening day and have to resort to playing mainly youth, then i'll be all over that 1/2.

Chance 1/2 won't be around by then but can't imagine it would get much shorter, hence I certainly won't be getting involved now.

Too much downside not enough upside at the moment in that price.

Think we should be adding Taylor to the matchplay portfolio.  2/1 bf sportsbook and bwin is comfortably under on bf.  He is back to his fearless best after his 9 darter last night and 100+ average and has got a gift of a 1/4 final verses the golden newton who must be wondering how he has made the 1/4's with an 81 average in 2 games!

£40 recommended 2/1

They won't be in a similar state though on opening day.  There are plenty of deals done in the next 2 weeks by lower league clubs for squad players to fill out the roster.  Don't buy into all this hype.  Blackpool chairman is a well known miser who likes to do everything on the cheap and will just be playing the game to get his squad done as cheap as possible.

Corral go 8/13 anyway. May have to get involved.

All this 1/2 business was kind of a moot point.

Oddschecker ftw people!

chairman manager at stand off though with transfers, so would need one to budge - can't see it at present.

There has been no mention of Forest throughout the whole debate of whether 1/2 is a good price.  Just how bad Blackpool are going to be.  Is there anything to suggest Forest are going to be nothing more than a mid table side again.  When i am backing a 1/2 shot i like to focus more on the positives of the side i am backing?no?

1/2 looks about right to me presuming Blackpool do scrub together an eleven of sorts.

If the game was tommorow and Blackpool still had the squad they have now 1/2 (or 8/13) is a bet for me

Surely that is a plus, 'new manager syndrome' and all?

Tighty will LOVE that you spotted that!

At least he knows folks read his Daily Thingies.
