Whilst we are discussing football fixtures in advance.  The Scottish season gets underway on 9th August, the most anticipated game has to be Rangers v Hearts in the Championship.  Even as a Celtic fan I am looking forward more to seeing the Championship with Rangers, Hearts, Hibs all in there along with Falkirk and Queen of the South it promises to be competitive.

As many on here know for large periods last season I was very anti Hearts whenever I could bet against them I did.  It was for large spells like getting free money.  However, since the takeover they have gone quietly about their business they have a new first team coach and the experienced Craig Levein is in as Director of Football (love him or hate him he knows what he's doing at this level) player wise although they have lost some experience they have got rid of, imo a few players who were overpaid, overrated and quite frankly liabilities.  They have brought in a few players who have operated at a higher level and who done well in the SPL for Levein at Dundee United.  Namely Prince Bauben and Morgaro Gomis.  They have also brought n former Rangers and Scotland GK Neil Alexander.

They have brought in Soufian El Hassnoui who previously played in Holland, and although not prolific over there I am sure he will prove to be a decent signing.  He reminds me of Mark de Vries who done well for Levein at Hearts.

With their finances in order and the players having security I feel many of the yougsters from last season who played well in spells will be much more grounded and be ready for the challenge.  Fom what I have heard also Robbie Neilsen is apparently a very good coach.

I don't see Hearts out of the top 2, indeed I think they will win the division.  Although Rangers had previously cantered the divisions lower than this they hadn;t been convincing in doing do, they literally bought their way to where they are now which is what them got them into the mess they were in previously which led to liquidation.  They have a poor manager and an ageing squad that is overpaid.

I think 7/2 is value for Hearts.  I'd have made them slightly shorter to win outright.  But I like the 7/2 @ 1/3 of the odds e/w with Billy Mountains.   I'm very sweet on this and have invested quite a bit myself.  For Fred I think £100 e/w Hearts is a good season long sweat.

I'd also consider trying to recoup some of our funds as early as the first game of the season by backing Hearts @ 3/1 to get off to a win at Ibrox.

Still got turned over by Dundee on Tuesday, mon the Dees!!!!

This is true but they are an SPL team now.  Plus its preseason.  You think Dundee stay up?  I like Hartley, but dislike Dundee owners for the way they treated Barry Smith.

I reckon we'll be good enough for an 9th-ish place finish, it doesn't take that much given the poor standard. Hartley seems to have done a decent job and there has been a few decent signings. The main chap who dealt with the Barry Smith stuff is now, somewhat ironically, at Hearts.

I've been looking over the markets for the Hungarian GP and do be honest nothing is really jumping out at me, everything seems well priced.

The only two options I would seriously consider are:

Winner: Lewis Hamilton @ 4/5 with Bwin.
Group B (BUT/RAI/PER/MAG): Sergio Perez @ 5/2 with Bet Victor.

For the Lewis bet, I am pretty sure it would win. The Hungaroring suits Hamilton's driving style and in my opinion this is a bet on him finishing the race really. On the other hand, 4/5 is not a very good price, generally speaking. Really not sure how to proceed to be honest. If you're happy to bet at this low price then I would recommend it.

As for the Perez bet, Force India's car should really suit this circuit. However a number of teams a bringing huge upgrade package to this race so I would prefer to wait until after I've seen some data, post-FP1.

Think we should be adding Taylor to the matchplay portfolio.  2/1 bf sportsbook and bwin is comfortably under on bf.  He is back to his fearless best after his 9 darter last night and 100+ average and has got a gift of a 1/4 final verses the golden newton who must be wondering how he has made the 1/4's with an 81 average in 2 games!

£40 recommended 2/1

Rec we take whatever Gamble-unfair Sportsbook will allow us on Taylor @3.5, hopefully it's more than 50p.

Find it via Sportsbook > Darts > World Matchplay > Phil Taylor Special > Taylor to win World Matchplay

They let me have £49.50. I would be interested to know what the max is. If Fred can't get on you can have mine. (cheers for pointing that out McGlashan).

quite comical how they were top 2/1 on their normal book and got filled in so badly the selection auto suspended and their lol traders haven't even noticed.  Then some bright spark thinks 'let's go big power today at 5/2 for a bullseye a punter' even though they have been filled in at 2/1.  I just laid some punter this on the exchange on Taylor

Phil Taylor   2.6   £206.70   £330.72
Ref: 39429073052 Bet matched: 14:40 24-Jul-14

Maybe the power is averaging 130 in practice.  They are very keen to get on.

Valverde attacks!

(More relevant to keeping on the podium than catching Nibali)

But gets caught by the peloton about ten minutes later Sad
